YHC and horny toad ensured that Briar Chapel was safe during their EC Ruck in the early morn’. Horny toad and Boyardee did some EC Murph training while YHC setup some thangs in the courtyard behind The Big House. And then it was time to VQ 28 PAX (gulp!).

Merkins x15 IC
Plank to low lunge, both sides, 10 counts

The Thang:
In a previous iteration of being fit, YHC was an avid Crossfitter.  Then, a Turkish Get Up gone wrong led to a broken wrist and lots of ice cream therapy (a story for another day). YHC was excited to VQ The Big House, as he did a lot of bootcamps prior to F3 in that same courtyard.  Lastly, through a concerted effort, YHC had dropped nearly 50# of fat since starting F3.  Combining all of these seemingly unrelated things meant only one workout could occur on this day: The Filthy Fifty. Some substitutions had to be made due to lack of equipment, but we made do.

PAX split into trios and one quartet (no, they did not sing carols). In theory, one pax would work, and the others would hold static poses.  In practice, it was a bit chaotic, but hey, it was a VQ.

Stations:
50 Box Jumps
50 Ring Dips
50 Kettlebell Swings
50 Walking Lunges

COT:

Here’s to a speedy recovery for fieri’s case of pneumonia. A monthly Saturday AM workout designed with 2.0s in mind is coming soon; more info from Stinky Pete.

YHC reflected on the importance of finding F3 at this point in time, and how the accountability, the trust, and the community helped kick in his disciplined approach to getting healthy again.  YHC lauded the men for their efforts in the gloom and reminded them to put forth that effort in all aspects of life. At least, that’s what YHC wanted to relay; nerves and hypoxia may have delivered something approaching that message. Until next time!
