How did we get this name? The Hillandale mascot is a Hurricane (we already have Vortex) and when YHC decided to go with Hillandale as the site, it was on my birthday at my one of my favorite places in DRM – Gonza Tacos. They had a drink special called the “Hurricanrana” and YHC thought, “That’s a great name! Spanish for Hurricane.” YHC was wrong in the best way. Yes, it’s Spanish; but for a lucha libre (aka Mexican Pro Wrestling) takedown resembling a hurricane. So YHC stole the name and the lucha libre mask idea as the symbol of our new site. (Special thanks to YHC’s brother who does graphic design work, that thing is gonna look badass on the back of a shirt someday)

YHC looked up some Usain Bolt variations on F3Nation and found a great variation from our dear Nantaan – Adolphis. Usain Bolts in pairs so everyone does some variation of that exercise the pick.
Partner up. Size does not matter. Pairs pick exercises and run the length of the bus loop. Partner 1 run, Partner 2 and PAX exercise, Partner 1 returns and jumps in to exercises.

- Around February I decided to step up and start a North Durham site sometime in the next year. With the launch of Duck and Weave and Bullpen in the spring, I knew we could do a true N. DRM site once those got some traction. It has been a fun process to get things started, scout sites, recruit, figure out a day (that part’s not so fun, I’ll miss you HoP), and go. Now the real work begins!
- Huge thanks to the guys that have committed to this site! Mr. Brady, Chubbs, Soda Popinski and more have been on board since the jump! We had an FNG today and a few weeks ago at a trial, so we are already branching out.
