Stepping Up in Kenan Stadium

Five PAX gathered in the gloom on Monday at Kenan Stadium, and with temperatures hovering in the upper 50s on a spring morning, conditions were perfect to break a sweat.

We welcomed FNG Zane, a senior at Carolina about to graduate with a degree in chemistry. He had come across the Wednesday AM Rameses workout one morning at the Outdoor Education Center, wondered what it was all about and today christened his F3 life. He shall henceforth be called One Dimension.

The Thang:

Warmup SSH x 20, Squats x 10, Windmills x 10, Arm Circles front and back x 10, CDD x 10, Merkins x 10.

Into the stadium and onto the field we went. Each PAX took one aisle on the north side of the stadium for a 25 minute regimen that included knocking out 10 merkins, sprinting up and down the steps, doing 10 squats and then running a lap around the perimeter of the playing field. Repeat ad nauseam.

We did five to six circuits and then circled up for a stair-step version of Usain Bolts. One PAX sprinted the steps while everyone else did a core exercise, going through the group twice. A great time was had by all doing planks, bows-to-toes planks, side planks, WWIIs, Freddie Mercuries, Heels to Heavens, In-and-Outs and Russian Hammers.

To wrap the festivities up we moved up to the concourse levels and the wooden benches on the east side of the stadium. We did two sets of standard dips x 15 and one set of four-count dips, alternating with 45-second Peoples Chairs on the brick columns nearby.

Then it was back to the gate and COT.
