Porta-Tot

October 26, 2017

WHEN: 10/26/2017
QIC: Tatertot
PAX: Sweater Vest, Driftwood, Soda Popinski, Pre-K, Pebbles, Screech, Funny Money, Roach, Tatertot
Nine PAX rolled in to ReCity. YHC’s favorite time of the year – dry, cold, and worth it when you get up and get moving.
YHC took the Q since the Bullpen Signup Sheet seems to be riding the struggle-bus. A challenge to the regulars at Bullpen – sign up to Q three times in the next 12 months here. With the average numbers we have at Bullpen (about 10 PAX per week) – we can fill our Q sheet pretty quick with some solid leaders – you have so many parking lots, pull up bars, bricks, hills, and open spaces to kick butt. These blanket motivating statements never work, get ready to have a heart-to-heart with ya boy Tater.
This entire BB was not planned. YHC took elements from recent Q’s and just put it together.
Warm Up
SSH – fast, get moving and get warm
Arm Circles – fast, keep the blood flowing (some decent mumblechatter here with SV and Funny, YHC loves some good mumblechatter)
Windmills – regular count, but YHC thought about going fast.
Good Mornings
Mountain Climbers
The Thang
Go get two bricks! YHC grabbed extra gloves for Pre-K and he grabbed extra bricks for me, not the best trade YHC has made, but happy to lend out spare gloves on a cold morning. Meanwhile – Pebbles, Screech and Soda just started to wander off leaving ReCity for Broadway St. Those hard-chargers must have been motivated!
20 x 20 x 20 – Back in July – YHC lead a very simple workout  – run around do 20 brick merkins, 20 brick squats, 20 Brick-SSH. It’s a good set to keep in mind. We knocked out 20 of each and got to Mosey’ing.
It is at this point where the PAX will probably tell you some story.ALLEGEDLY the Q had to stop and use the port-a-potty by the Skate Park. ALLEGEDLY.
The PAX did another 20x20x20 and then we continued to the large YMCA lower parking lot. it was here that YHC noticed the ol’ left brick had split, so now the work was to keep them together for the rest of the workout.
Partner Usain Bolts. PAX have to do Brick exercises while the pairs run up and back on the parking lot (YHC was the solo)
Merkins, WW2’s, jump lunges, Brick SSH (…I think)
Pick up your bricks and mosey to the other parking lot hill. Bricks down, and get ready for some sprints.
Small Lot Hill Sprints
Soda just crushed this. The man must have minored in backwards running or something. It’s amazing to see him backpedal.
Round 1: Backwards Run up, regular down, plank it out
Round 2: Backwards run up, regular down, backwards run up, regular down, plank it out. Ten count.
Round 3: High Knees up, butt kickers down, plank it out
Round 4: Backwards run up, regular down, high knees up, regular down, butt kickers up, regular down, plank it out. Ten Count
Grab your bricks and make the long haul back to ReCity.
Mary – Ring of Fire
Tater: Outlaws
Pre-K: Russian Hammers
Driftwood: LBCs
Screech: Superman (alternate arms straight and arms out)
Roach: Merkins
SV: Flutters
Soda: 6-Inch Leg holds (5 counts).
We didn’t get to everyone on the Ring of Fire because of time (Sweater Vest crushed our spirits with those flutters).
CoT
  • Buy a shirt! Pebbles wife designed the logo! It was a really good selling point – Heres the link!
  • Prayers for Lo Pair recovering, any other Churham PAX dealing with sickness and family health.
  • Prayers for YHC’s M. Due with our third around New Years. She’s on the long, final leg, has to manage two rowdy kids, a bunch of various meds, and working through soreness at this point. Pregnancy is no joke, YHC could not handle it.
