Keeping It Simple

April 28, 2021

WHEN: 04/28/2021
QIC: Tater Tot
PAX: Soda Popinski, Magellan, Roach, CHOWDAH, Frozen Peas, Larry Legend, Waka Waka, Spot, Belding (F3 Pittsburgh!), Missing Link (FNG), Texas Instruments, Happy Trees

Keep it simple – merkins, burpess, squats. You don’t need much else on top of that.

Noted visitor from F3 Pittsburgh was there when YHC arrived at 520. You can tell when we have a guest because they are on time. Belding of F3 Pittsburgh (in his Heinz Mustard Yellow F3 shirt – go Ravens) formerly of F3 Columbia (he does know our local holiday buddy Biggie Smalls) is in town for a work conference. tClaps for posting while traveling – we have a few of these guys starting to pop up – honorary North Durham Bad Boys. It’s a good place to visit.

We also had another first-timer to our site – Waka Waka who’s posted before in Charleston and is a teacher here in town. He brought a coworker/friend as an FNG. Real fun to have 3 new guys to the ‘rana.

Disclaimer, welcome, count off to 13 and we got going.

Warmarama

SSH, Arm circles, harvester, good morning, Willie Mays Hayes. Warm up Lap

circle back up after the lap and review proper merkin, burpee, and squat form. Do 3 perfect of each.

Ricky Bobby the long way back.

The Thang

The far island is our start. The cones on the bus loop is our other end (about 1/3 down).

YHC admitted to the group that I am bad at Jacobs Ladder – lose count. Can’t get pass 5 without getting confused.

So in the spirit of keeping it simple – we only did a 5/1 Jacobs Ladder from the island to the cones.

Round 1: 5 Burpees (down) and 1 Donkey kick (up). YHC demonstrated a very proper formed Donkey Kick.

After round 1 – over to the wall for Peoples Chair  and BTTW. People’s chair broke down with mumble chatter so we had to do a Tater silent count for BTTW.

Round 2 Jacobs Ladder: 5 Merkens (down) and 1 squat (up).  Repeato the wall work again.

Sprint to the playground (NOBODY CAN BEAT HOT-TATER IN A SPRINT) –

Na’antan Set: T’eo Inspired set from his past Q – 10 Austrailian Pullups, 15 squats, run out and back x 4 (we dropped it to 2 rounds).

Mosey to front for Mary.

Mary:

Flutters (shocker)

American Hammer (YHC was next to Roach and he was legit excited).

CoT:

Fill the Q sheet!

Our FNG wasn’t primed on naming, and so he just picked his own name. Great energy, love that initiative.

No spoken prayer requests, YHC took us out.

Coffeeteria had 7 – sad to miss today.

Moleskin:

I love having FNGs and new guys from out of town. Love welcoming guests and showing men what F3 is all about – there’s something to being at a guy’s first post and seeing them again and again. Also love having guests from down range – whats your region like? How’d you get involved? F3 is for the FNG and the guest – make it worthwhile for them to come back!
