Happy Anniversary to ME!

June 5, 2019

WHEN: 06/05/2019
QIC: Sidecar
PAX: Uzi, Teo, Bushwood, Cheesesplint, Deep Dish, Graceland, Boucher, Adolphus, MLP, SDR, Big Kat, Champ, TB

To commemorate Sidecar’s One Year F3 anniversary, a Who’s Who of Chapel Hill All-Stars came out to get a sampling of the Best of Ramses.

After a “Choose Your Own Adventure” EC that saw PAX running THWM repeats, rucking THWM repeats, and doing Adolphus pullups, the PAX came together for the ME.

Warm up: SSH, LBACs, Merkins, etc

Tha Thang:

Crab walk from the top of the Ramses parking lot to the hill down THWM.  At the transition, convert to a bear crawl that was made more delightful by the steep downhill.  The Q gave an appropriate warning to the PAX to watch their balance, lest significant dental work be needed.

PAX bear crawled to the yellow gate and, after a Very Fair recovery period, engaged in modified travelling burpees back up to the parking lot.  One PAX attempted to correct the Q’s interpretation of travelling burpees, which focused on the “burpee” and not so much on the “travelling” and his queries were appropriately addressed by the Q.

On reaching the parking lot, the PAX moseyed as a group down to the tennis courts for the next exercise- a set of lunge merkin suicides.  PAX were energized by the Q’s promise of reward at the end, and lunged across all five courts, running back to the start line in between, with merkins in between: 5 merkins after each of the first two courts, 10 after each of the second two, and 15 after each of the third two courts.

Always a man of his word, the Q rewarded the PAX at the end of the movement: the first place finisher did a set of burpees equal to the number of PAX they bested, the second place finished did the same and so on.  Very fair.

Concerned that PAX were not sufficiently exercised (or exorcised) the Q led the group to the pullup bars and sand volleyball courts, where they partnered up and each pair paid the bars the 50 pullups owed.  While one PAX did pullups, the other bear crawled through the deep sand to the far end of the volleyball courts and back.

A final mosey back to the parking lot was followed by a brief Mary for Endex.

Prayer Requests:

Boucher requested prayers for his friend/neighbor David Early who suffered a TBI in a bike crash

Sidecar requested prayers for his assistant Jamie Burchette, who is expecting a child with spina bifida and experiencing complications.

Announcements:

Deep Dish reminded the group of his M’s business open house tomorrow night in Durham.  Details on mumblechatter channel.

YHC took the group out with sincere gratitude for F3 as a whole, and particularly for the PAX present and many others who have made the last year great.
