YHC has been watching the Olympic games a bunch this past week, and thought this might give a nice framework to a workout. No grab-ass or silly games though; YHC has realized the key to a successful themed workout is to never let the theme get in the way of a good beatdown.

5 PAX showed up for EC; 1 for solo ManMakers, and 4 for a fellowship mosey. The Olympic theme via Bluetooth speaker greeted the 13 PAX who gathered in the gloom at 0530 to get things started.

Warmup

Mosey on down to the traffic circle. First event: Swimming. YHC watched the 200M Individual Medley last night – 4 lengths of the pool, 4 different strokes, which served as the inspiration.

  • Backward Run up to Garret Road
  • 5 Burpee (flip turn)
  • Lunge Walk back down
  • 5 Burpee (flip turn)
  • Duck Walk to Garret Road
  • 5 Burpee (flip turn)
  • Sprint back down

 

Recovery Mosey to the middle parking lot. Same idea, but now on a “short course” across the parking lot

  • Crawl bear across
  • 3 Burpee (flip turn)
  • Gorilla Walk back
  • 3 Burpee (flip turn)
  • Crab Walk across
  • 3 Burpee (flip turn)
  • Bear Crawl back

 

Mosey to the Cinder Block pile for our next event – combination of Weight Lifting and Track & Field. Partner up, grab a block.

  • Partner 1 AMRAP cinder block clean and jerk (each rep starts with the block on the ground, and ends with the block held overhead with arms straight)
  • Partner 2 runs ~100M out and then back
  • Total of 100 reps combined
  • (there was an inkling of an idea to make this 205 reps for the 205 nations competing in the games. But time was growing short.)

 

Put blocks back, and head to the Tennis courts for our next event (Tennis, obviously). Tennis courts are locked, so we transition to moving across the top parking lot. Instead of using court lines, we picked parking lot landmarks.  Finish strong with a bunch of reps in honor of 2021.

Announcements – F3Churham 8th Anniversary convergence is coming. Likely will be on a Wednesday near Sept 18th (the day of the first F3 workout in the area), and held at #Rameses. Look for more details forthcoming.  The Bull is October 30th, mark your calendars. No Prayer requests today.
