Exercising our right to Vote

October 17, 2020

WHEN: 10/16/2020
QIC: Boucher
PAX: Barksdale, Botched, Grampa Ninja, Invisiline, Laplane, Llama llama, Ocho, OPEC, Prancing Horse, Sonar, Sweatervest, Te’o, Yurt

There was an open spot on the Falcon Q Sheet a few weeks back, and YHC jumped on it.  YHC had a desire to focus on F3 this week and was committed to hit up 5 AOs this week.  Finished off the week with the friendly confines of the Falcon Extra Credit Man Makers with Botched, Barksdale, OPEC and a newer face in Visiline (who YHC learned was serving in the Air Force – Aye, thank you for your service).  It was a warm, wet, humid morning with a light rain and the temperature around 70 and slowly dropping through day.

With early voting starting yesterday in record numbers here in NC and around the country – YHC was going to bring the theme of voting to the Falcon.

Mosey to the back entrance for the…

Main Event
To symbolize registering to vote, the 14 of us got into a physically distanced line for a slow Ricky Bobby via crawl bear to the front.  As each PAX passed by to get to the front, they were instructed to alternate between low squat hold/low plank hold.  Once each PAX completed two cycles, to be sufficiently registered, we had a nice recovery mosey to the bottom of the hill.

Each PAX was instructed to run All Ya Got around the full loop to simulate a brutal primary campaign.  The PAX were instructed to plank in order of finish.  Ocho was on one end of the spectrum and Grampa Ninja was on the opposite end…and thus we had our candidates.

While the two candidates presented their campaign promises to the PAX (what exercises and movements the PAX would go up and down the road with the traffic circle twice), the PAX did Everests (lunge walk followed by a deep squat after each left/right).  The PAX then formed two socially distant lines to simulate the long lines reported at many voting sites.  The PAX then choose their preferred candidates one by one.  Ocho was running on a campaign of backward runs, up and jogs down.  Grandpa Ninja was a bit more libertarian of a candidate and changed his campaign promises to whatever the PAX wanted to do, which could prove a bit chaotic.  Some great mumble chatter, catharsis and facetiousness allowed for a healthy release during an important time in our nation’s history.  The PAX chose bear crawls, crawl bears, forward runs, backward runs, karaokes, slides, lunge walks, broad jumps and bunny hops.

Once two full rounds were completed, the PAX headed back to startex for…
