YHC was excited to take the reins for the first Piranha of the year, and even more excited that this fell on my birthday.
As you guys are painfully aware, I typically enjoy Qs with themes, props, plots and puns. After a little research for the number 48, I was completely underwhelmed by what I found. Here are some highlights associated with the number 48:

  • Number of minutes in an NBA game
  • 48 is the smallest number with exactly ten divisors.
  • The atomic number of cadmium.
  • Johann Sebastian Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier is informally known as The Forty-Eight because it consists of a prelude and a fugue in each major and minor key, for a total of forty-eight pieces.
  • the code for international direct dial phone calls to Poland.

Do you see my point?

Throw me a friggin bone, 48!

This, along with getting OLDER, irritated me to the point of throwing together a beat down to induce some misery and pain on the PAX who braved a 30 degree morning. The formula was a riff on Week 0 of the IRONPAX Challenge, modified slightly to include the terrible number, 48:

COT:

There was lots of negativity in my mind putting together this grumpy old man work out, but there was one thing that stood out from researching the importance of the number 48. In Chinese Numerology, the number 48 means “determined to prosper”. This struck a chord with me and has become my mantra for this year. To me this means PUT IN THE WORK AND REAP THE BENEFIT.  This holds true with workouts, in relationships, and at work. Pretty much in all aspects of life. Don’t wait for good things to happen, MAKE good things happen!

Thanks for coming out and celebrating my birthday in the gloom. Y’all help me be a better person and these workouts will help me enjoy many more birthdays!
