Winter Is Coming

September 20, 2022

WHEN: 09/20/2022
QIC: Brotox
PAX: Golden Boy, Blackbeard (FNG), Gunny, Stevie Ray, Proton (visiting from Knoxville), Hotpants, Balki, Squi, Medium Pharma, Nightshift
ME HEADCOUNT: 11

In some horse-trading last month, Golden Boy and YHC agreed to a Q Exchange whereby I took the reins at Farm Boys one morning and he signed up to Q The Thicket in return.  It was a beautiful morning, mid-60s, low humidity, perfect weather to get after it.

Warm Up

Standard stuff…Side Shuffle Hops x20IC, F & R Arm Circles x10IC each, Imperial Walkers x10IC, Slow Squats x10IC, Slow Merkins x10IC

Main Event

Thang 1:  ALARMs x 4 rounds with increasing counts each time (5, 10, 15, then 20)

  • Arms: Dips
  • Legs: Squats
  • Abs: Flutter Kick
  • R-exercise: Run around the block
  • M-exercise: Merkins

Thang 2: A little preview of an exercise that will be run at The Quarterly Report on October 1st where you go around the circle of PAX and each one calls out a new exercise, plus adds on all the previous exercises.  When a PAX forgets one of the previous exercises, we run a lap (or do a lunge walk) and then circle up to start over.  On the first attempt we made it to the 6th exercise before Nightshift botched it, on the second attempt we could only make it to the 3rd exercise before Hot Pants had a brain fart, on the third and final attempt we made it to the 5th exercise before it was time to call it and move to announcements.

Announcements/Prayer Requests

  • The fourth installment of The Quarterly Report is October 1st from 7-8 am, mark your attendance on the sign up sheet in the quarterly report channel.
  • Two October Q spots available at The Cougar
  • Keep the Brotox family dog in your prayers as she goes in a for mast excision in the coming days; fingers crossed there’s been no spread.
  • Welcome to our FNG Blackbeard, who attended ECU and, well, has a black beard.

COT

The fall season will formally be upon us later this week and with it the recognition that there are only three months left in 2022…Winter is coming and before you know it the year will be over.  It’s a good opportunity to look back to those New Year’s to-do list items you had and evaluate your progress.  There’s still time to check those possibly forgotten items off your list!  Until next time, aye!
