Up the Side of Mount Crumpet

December 24, 2019

WHEN: 12/24/2019
QIC: WeedNFeed
PAX: Cosmo, Splits, Houdini, Bellhop, Looney, Elf, Clipboard, Pikachu, Cardiac, MLP, Awesome Baby

While planning this workout, I puzzled and puzzed, ’til my puzzler was sore. Then I thought of something I hadn’t before; a Grinch-themed workout where we grow our hearts two or three sizes bigger. I was lucky to encounter 11 other PAX in the holiday spirit and we got to work.

Warm up

  • 20 SSH IC
  • 10 Harvesters IC
  • 15 Imperial walkers IC
  • 10 Slow merkins IC
  • 15 Overhead claps IC
  • 15 Seal claps IC

The Thang

The PAX headed down to Whoville at the bottom of Mount Crumpet. We each brought coupons and proceeded to take all the Who’s Christmas stuff. The goal was to complete as many circuits as possible in the time given, OYO. In Whoville:

  • 10 Burpees
  • 15 Merkins
  • 15 Simbas (AKA Squat thrusters)
  • 20 Jump squats
  • 15 Overhead presses
  • 30 Overhead claps

Houses looted, up the side of Mount Crumpet, we rode with our load to the tip top, to dump it. As an added twist, the two 2.0’s present filled the role of Cindy Lou Who, and caught Grinches in the act (i.e. assigned 5 extra, random burpees, at will). The Cindy Lou Who option was invoked generously, and many Grinches small hearts were expanded. Elf tried to explain that he has a direct line to Santa and that if Cindy Lou Who would overlook him occasionally, it would pay off Christmas morning. YHC is pretty sure Elf did some extra burpees somehow.

The goal was to hustle up Mount Crumpet as fast as possible, depending on your coupon and how smoked you were. At the top of Mount Crumpet, we had a change of heart by doing 10 burpees.

Then we rode back down the Mountain blowing “hoo hoo” on our trumpets, returned the Who’s stuff and started the next cycle. The average number of circuits was 5.

Mary

Sled/Sleigh ROF (AKA boat/canoe). Everyone had a turn completing 5 Heals to Heaven.

COT

Immediately following the Grinchy Piranha, several PAX took a photogenic picture, and then spent some time doing a trash cleanup around the school. Thanks to everyone who stayed for that little extra service, and thanks to Cosmo and Bellhop for organizing.

More opportunities to work off holiday calories and do service at Tobacco Road on Thursday!
