5 pax woke up an hour early and went on a lovely walk around TBL, with a necessary stop at the pull-up bars. Once back on site, two left and the other 3 remained and formed a hearty group of 14 for Snots VQ – but based on the pain he brought, you”d never know…
Warm-up: SSH, LBAC, rLBAC, goooood mornings, WMHs, merkins
Snot”s Passover Plague Workout (DirtyMacDeuce style) – the pax split into 3 groups – each group split up and started their respective exercises; each were done to 4-count cadence and 12 reps per cycle
Group 1: mountain goats (mountain climbers with a donkey kick)
After the MGs, walking lunge up the hill to relieve Group 2, who had been doing step ups on the railing (quite frankly, that distance/incline of walking lunge followed by 5 mins of stepups was awful).
Once relieved, now bunny hop (see, Snots does care about Easter) down the road to the bus lot where you”ll perform crunchy frogs (V-up extremities in and out sit-ups) – once you hit your 12 cadence count reps, run it back down to the beginning where you start with the mountain goats
Snots had the plan for doing 4 rotations of this, but with the amount of mumblechatter and cramping quads, he cut it off at 730 (about 1.5 rotations) for YHC to take over
Bring Sally Up – once you can”t do merkins, move to air squat/low squat holds
The benefits of 60 seconds of 100% all out effort three times a week was scientifically discussed – we then did a week”s worth of exercise with mountain climber tabata training (20 seconds on, 10 seconds off, 8 rounds for 4 total minutes)
Next the pax was given a choice – they could choose option A (the more difficult running workout) or option B (less rigorous) – the catch? for the next set of exercises, if they chose option B, they must do the harder option A… so really, the pax were screwed one way or another
Option A: Jacob”s ladder, 1 burpee, run half the field, 5 merkins, run back, 2 burpees…
Option B: Jacob”s ladder, 1 burpee, run to the 18, 5 merkins, run back… (significantly less running) – the option B pax enjoyed their Floyd Plank (which we learned that planks were far superior to situps, and because they never mentioned what TYPE of planks were best, we figured the Floyd Plank counted
Time to pay up: Thunderstruck
Option A: burpee on thunder, SSH in between
Option B: merkin on thunder, high plank hold in between
Mary: 5 count 6″ leg raise around the circle, and the “O-ller coaster” (thanks Choo Choo for that one)… and no we definitely didn”t do pickle pushers (at least during the workout)
COT
