The Hardest Part of Your Day

March 6, 2020

WHEN: 03/06/2020
QIC: Shake It
PAX: Handshake, Nookie, Pancake, Crabcake, Dial Up, Cat 5, Iggy Peck, Cool J, Funny Money, Blue Indian, Happy Trees, Magellan, Frozen Peas, Chowdah, Misery, The Body, Lowtide

There is a balance to leading a workout, similar to the balance in the Force. PAX expect the workout to be hard, but not impossible. On the other hand, there is no set definition of what hard looks like. The Q has to determine how to challenge every PAX, at their current fitness level, so that all PAX feel encouraged and wanted to post the next time.

Keeping that in mind, YHC felt like he had a well thought out plan to deliver a beating to the 18 PAX, including himself, that posted this morning.

Warm-Up

  • SSH x30
  • Mountain Climbers x20
  • Plank Jack Merkins x15
  • WMH x10
  • Line jumps (side to side, then back and forth) for a minute.
  • Merkin Medley (10 normal, 10 wide, 10 diamond)

The Thang

YHC led the PAX through downtown and to the parking lot across from Rise Biscuits. The plan was to do three rounds of travel with some exercises along the way.

  • Round 1: We sprinted down each lane of the parking lot. Stopping to perform 10 burpees after each sprint. 4 sprints in total.
  • Round 2: This time we did animal movements.
    • Bear Crawl, Gorilla Crawl, Crab Walk
    • 20 Bobby Hurley’s after each
  • Round 3: YHC had PAX partner up by size. We did partner carries down the lanes. Just two trips because time was running short. After each trip we did a 1 minute 6-inch leg raise. (Kudos to Dial Up for carrying Happy Trees, it was a bold move).

Time flies when you’re getting your ass kicked. Back to City Hall.

Mary: In Cadence

  • V-Ups x 20
  • Box Cutters x20
  • Alternating arm raises x10
  • Alternating shoulder taps x10

COT:

  • Shake It is running the Tobacco Road Marathon next Sunday. Shooting for a 3:05:00 marathon. Wish him luck.
