The Big Hurt

3 amazing, barrel-chested, heroic, American champions and Doogie showed up for extra credit. Doogie laid a big fat Turdoza, as they say. The champs did 4 rounds of the following:

  • Lunge walk around half the soccer field (one lap with weights)
  • One lap 50-75%
  • 30 burpees

Then 18 showed up for a joint Cardiac/Sweats Saturday beatdown. Cardiac led us off with a Cardiac birthday-themed (35) shuffle-fest, with PAX shuffling from mid-field and back with 5 burpees on either end until we reached 35. We did the same thing with full-field sprints and bear crawls/backwards run and some bunny hops thrown in the mix. In reality, Cardiac planned this workout to pay homage to Frank Thomas, nicknamed, “The Big Hurt.”
After a few hops back-and-forth, to-and-fro, Cardiac handed it over to Sweats for a full-field bonanza of hurt.

  • Traveling merkin around goal box
  • Run to one bench, 35 dips
  • Run to next bench across field, 35 derkins
  • Run to next bench across field, 35 erkins
  • Run to next bench across field, 35 step-ups
  • Bear crawl around penalty box.

Then we hit up the basketball court for a little Dora action, and here is where the mumblechatter died. While one partner ran suicides (foul, mid, foul, endline) the other helped garner 50 burpees, 100 merkins, and 200 squats. We ended with 35 flutter kicks and Superman for 1.5 minutes.
