Taking it to 100

YHC was pumped to answer the call from Nightshift to come and Q Kenan for “Name That Q” Month. An AO that YHC doesn’t get to often, partially because of the slightly later time/kids early wake-ups, and partly because #the_eagle on Mondays is only ~250 yards from YHC’s house. But a fun location; many nearby options, and of course the Headliner of Kenan Stadium right in front of us.

 

YHC decided to focus on making the PAX feel like they were performing on the Kenan Stadium turf on a Saturday. And for this year at least, the PAX got to have approximately as many fans in the stands as the regular UNC Football Team!

 

The Theme – taking it to 100. After 7 PAX enjoyed an EC fellowship mosey down to Franklin St and back, 15 PAX gathered in the gloom for the Main Event

Warmup

  • SSH x 25
  • WMH x 12
  • Imperial Walker x 13
  • LBAC x 12, Reverse x 13
  • Slow Merkin x 12
  • Slow Squat x 13
  • (Total of 100 Warm-up reps)

 

Thang

Mosey down the steps onto the field turf. PAX lined up along the sideline, facing in to the field. PAX spaced out every 5 yards.

  • First up – Merkin pyramid: 1-10-1 (100 total reps)
  • Do 1 Merkin, run to far sideline, do 2 Merkins, run back
  • Etc

 

  • Next – Jump Squat pyramid: 1-10-1 (100 total reps)
  • Do 1 Jump Squat, run to first hash mark, do 2 Jump Squats, run back, etc
  • Less running this time, as legs were getting shot from the Jump Squats

 

  • Next set – Carolina Dry Docks
  • Original plan was a bear crawl suicide with the hash marks and the far sideline, with Dry Docks at each stop. But time was getting short and we had more to do!
  • New plan: 20 Carolina Dry docks, run to near hash mark, 20 more, run back to sideline. Repeat until 5 sets (100 reps) complete.

 

  • PAX then split into 2 groups (for spacing reasons), and each group went to an end zone corner
  • Despite being on the football field, PAX participated in an highly modified version of the Carolina Hoops 4 Corners – 25 WWII at each corner (100 reps total)
  • Sprint the long sides of the field, backward run the short sides

 

500 reps completed, PAX then lined up on the goal line for progressive sprints

  1. Mosey to 40 yard line, accelerate to opposite 40, cruise through to far goal line
  2. Mosey to 30 yard line, sprint to opposite 30, cruise through to far goal line
  3. Mosey to 20 yard line, sprint to opposite 20, cruise through to far goal line
  4. After taking a slightly longer recovery, full field AYG sprint: goal line to goal line

 

Mosey back up to Startex for Mary:

  • Heels to Heaven x 25
  • Alternating Shoulder taps x 20
  • Alternating knee taps (in bear plank) x 20
