Sunrise in Kenan

The last Monday of standard time allowed 10 PAX to enjoy a workout in Kenan Stadium with the run rising during the last half of the workout—a pretty neat effect. By next week that hour will have been shifted to the end of the day, so it was nice to get a little blue sky and scattered rays of light as we were knocking out our last Freddie Mercuries.

The Thang:

Warmup of SSH x 20, Windmills x 10, Squats x 10, Arm Circles 10x both directions; CDD x 10, Merkins x 10.

Enter Kenan Stadium and jog to east concourse outside Blue Zone. There we split into two groups, five PAX running a lap around the concourse (about three minutes), while the others alternated 10 good-form Merkins and 10 deep squats, rinse and repeat. Switch it up after the first group finishes.

Then we did another round of the same drill, only the exercises were 10x dips and 10x step-ups on the benches.

From there we entered the bowl of the stadium and circled up on the turf next to one aisle for a form of Usain Bolts. One PAX ran the steps up to the portal and came down, the others doing an exercise called out that by individual, including burpees, CDD, jump-squats, hand-release merkins, WWIIs and assorted other assignments.

Next it was bear-crawls across the width of the east end zone, walking lunges back. Then a quick Four Corners, with KJS leading 15x hand-release merkins in each corner.

Finally, we circled up Mary: LBC x 15, Freddie Mercurys x 15, Parker-Peters x 12, bows-to-toes planks x 30 seconds two times.
