Shirts & Skins

September 18, 2018

WHEN: 09/18/2018
QIC: Horny Toad
PAX: Cricket, Gomer, Bright Idea
INTRO

With the trails mostly off-limits from the hurricane, I wanted to plan a workout that was on pavement but also something more interesting than just running through the neighborhood.  After a quick recon this morning to check on an area I had planned on using, I decided to call an audible and relocate to the Wall, since the other place was dark as shit and we needed some light.

After passing some tasty looking deer on the way back to the clubhouse, I was met with 3 eager PAX ready to roll.

WARMUP

SSH

WMH

Merkins

Mountain Climbers

MAIN EVENT

Bataan death march to the Wall (5 burpees each).  (Thanks to Bright Idea for the origin of the term)  Once at the Wall, run a warm up loop at 75% and line up in the order you finished in.  In hindsight, this plan failed, since no one (including myself) really pushed themselves so the order of finish was irrelevant.  Next time penalty burpees will be added for a carrot / stick approach.  After trying to arrange PAX in order of speed, we counted off by 1s and 2s and the shirts vs. skins teams were formed.

Round 1

AYG race around the wall.  10 burpees for the losing team.  25 airsquats for the winning team.

Round 2

AYG race around the wall w/ an extra half loop.  25 merkins for the losing team.  20 armcircles for the winning team.

10 count (Gomer)

Round 3

AYG sprint up the hill.  25 WWIIs for the losing team.  25 LBCs for the winning team.

In times like these, it’s important to do what you can to support your family, friends, and neighbors in need.  The response of our F3 brothers to this hurricane has been nothing short of incredible and we should all be proud to be a part of it.  I’m reminded by a quote from Winston Churchill, who said “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

Thanks for coming out today and for your support.  Until next time…AYE!
