June 4, 2018

WHEN: 06/04/2018
QIC: Griswold
PAX: Grunge, MarkyMark, Boyardee, Bunyan, Cabaret, Quimby, Hal, Hickory, Rambler, Stubbs, Horny Toad, Zook, Mothman, Golden Pinky, Doobie, Nescafe, Goatcheese, Stinky Pete, Duplo, John Boy, Griswold

After 9 got crushed at the inaugural iteration of The Jungle EC. 21 PAX ventured out for a Rep and Run Race. YHC has had to give up a couple of Qs recently due to work requirements, and it is never fun when real life intrudes on F3 life, so when Dueling Banjos needed a Q to sub in, YHC was all over it. Scrolling through some old BBs YHC came across a variation of a Coco Q that looked deadly, and decided that removing the coupons and increasing the run distance would make it my own.

Warm-up

  1. SSH x 20
  2. Imperial Walker x 15
  3. Windmill x 15
  4. Arm Circles x 20

The Thang:

YHC came out a little before EC with some borrowed chalk to mark off sections of the parking lot. The straight away of the lot had a start/finish line and then a section for Merkins, Squats, LBCs and Overhead Claps. Each section moved the PAX forward to the other entrance of the lot.

After warm-up the PAX did some math. First we counted off to give YHC an idea of how many teams we needed. Then We counted 4s to make teams (the second count was met with much dismay). Once the teams were set the plan was laid out.

Each team will complete the below reps in each section and advance as a team. Once OH Claps are complete the team will run to the T intersection at the Great Meadow and back to the start line. First team with all members back calls the exercise and reps for the rest. PAX plank until all runners return.

Exercises are:

  1. Merkin x 20
  2. Squat x 30
  3. LBC x 40
  4. Overhead Clap x 50

Mary:

Wave of Merkins up to 5

Announcements:

Hal is coordinating volunteers for assisting a single Mom with moving help this Saturday. Check Slack for details.

Huge shout out to Boyardee and all the PAX that were at Ronald McDonald House over the weekend. Sounds like it went great and it was absolutely an awesome cause!

Zika has his charity event this weekend, if you are around it is a great cause to support, and word is he is procuring large amounts of beer.

Jungle EC will be launching at Thicket every Monday from now until eternity. Great way to get stronger, faster, better at OCR, better at being a man, just better. Come get some.

BoM:

YHC hadn’t really thought much up to say this morning. So going simple was best. Summer is upon us. While we all want to look good, it is also hard to get out when we are on vacations, recovering from a few too man at the pool, a long day of yard work etc. Let’s fartsack the excuses and work hard on keeping the Acceleration in our fitness. At the same time, this is a great time of year to Accelerate our family lives too. If we can, lets try to take that extra day off or make some more time to get away and be with our families.

As always, it is a privilege to lead and be part of this group. Aye!

Moleskin:

Great to see a couple of brothers coming back out after injuries, welcome back Golden Pinky and Stinky Pete!
