YHC has been grinding through the end of the semester – a very busy time with post season athletics competition, personnel and programmatic reviews, budget submission, end of the year analysis…as well as grading and helping students finish of their respective semesters and in some cases, their academic careers and transition into their professional careers, in the best way possible.
In that vein (and YHC having a tweaked calf muscle, which would limit ability to run), and with graduation at UNC approaching, YHC developed a theme for the Rameses Q with the college experience in mind.
YHC came upon the scene with 5 PAX killing it on the THWM for some EC and called the group to order .

The Thang
We started with a greeting (orientation, general early socializing, etc.). The eleven PAX lined up side by side in a plank position. We proceed to do lateral travelling merkins, with face to face, then travel laterally to the next Pax and created a buddy travelling merkin gauntlet ricky bobby. We went through one cycle and then we had to move into our new dorms. We had three coupons (kettle bell and two concrete blocks) and 3 Pax would grab a coupon, run around the parking lot as quickly as possible and the remaining Pax would call out an exercise and would AMRAP while the runners were carrying their stuff into the dorm rooms…Exercises included squats, monkey humpers, merkins and (luckily while YHC was moving his coupon) burpees.
We then moseyed down to the stairs and we did a peoples chair against the low while (convocation) while each Pax shared their undergraduate area of study – props to the Pax who said girls and “sniper” – Uzi had one of those responses, and I think Cooter had the other – I’ll let you guess who said what.
After that we did
20 IC Dips
10 IC inverted underhand grip rows on the rail
10 IC Dips
10 IC inverted overhand grip rows on the rail.
Next we headed down to the gazebo, to simulate our first keg party. Each PAX simulated filling up their cup at the keg by running to the water fountain near the tennis courts while they call out an exercise that the remaining pax had to complete – we went through erkins, derkins, bulgarian split squats, burpees and YHC can’t remember the others…
Next we headed down to the sand volleyball courts to simulate getting lost, a bit tired and potentially hungover, on our way to our first class. We broke up into two groups and rotated between AMRAP pull ups, burpees, plank, monkey humpers, squats and a walking lunge through the send. YHC wasn’t able to convey his vision of this exercise effectively, but the PAX supported each other and the bottom line, all seemed to get some sweat in.
A Rameses Q isn’t a Rameses Q unless you do at least one THWM and we proceeded to the bottom for an AYG to the top. Upon arriving at the top of the parking lot, to address a concern raised about symmetry, YHC wanted the Pax to start a similar lateral travelling buddy merkin gauntlet rickyby – which would reward the early arrivers by having less Pax to lateral travelling buddy merkin gauntlet ricky bobby with…but the Pax were either too smoked, or YHC too unclear and we all did another lateral travelling buddy merkin gauntlet ricky bobby to our respective lefts, to address the concern of the PAX. We were a bit over, but UZI held us accountable to do 21 burpees to honor ROTC cadet and UNC-Charlotte Student Riley Howell – who heroically gave his life to defend other innocent lives at all too common and consistently recent tragic shooting on UNC-Charlotte’s Campus recently.
