Rain? What rain?

March 31, 2017

WHEN: 03/31/2017
QIC: Coco
PAX: Major Payne, Bouffe, Hux, Ito, Snail, Turnpike, French Lick, Coco

As the cloudy skies continued to dampen the earth at 0540 this morning, YHC pulled into the Bastille parking lot and spotted 2 soaking wet PAX milling about in the parking lot. In their normal, customary fashion – by fast foot! – Ito & Snail had just arrived per their normal Friday run to Bastille.
The massive volumes of 25-30 PAX who have consistently been gracing Bastille with their presence were conspicuously absent this morning. Was it spring break? Maybe. Was it the rain? YHC thinks so. Today was Day 5 of 5 for the BDay Q Week. M Coco had been kind enough to forgo her designated early-AM workouts this week to let YHC address the need to take on all 5 days…as he regrettably acknowledged the age-meter flipping from 38 to 39.
The Warm Up
SSH (x30)
Merkins (x39) – Thanks to my impromptu co-Q – Snail!! – we adjusted out remaining reps to 39.
Arm circles (x39)
BWS (x39)
The Thang
With an even-numbered (8) PAX, we pulled the sand coupons from the trunk and took off towards the SoVi center, adding 5 burpees each time the coupons changed hands along the way (x5).
Once reaching the SoVi center parking lot, the PAX again circled up for the forthcoming circuit.
25 Merkins. 25 BWS. 25 WWIIs.
Run the circle around the SoVi green with a different leader (and therefore different pace) each time. Repeato (x4).
Pulling a page from this past Monday”s gathering around The Old Well at Fetzer, we numbered off by 3s. The 1s + 2s called their exercise and led the PAX in that exercise with the # of reps = age. 3s were to lead burpees (x10 while adding their own special flare.
(Thankfully Hux & Ito were 3s. Those guys are… OLD!!)

  • Major Payne – Flutter (x46 IC)
  • Bouffe – LBC (x33 IC)
  • Turnpike – BWS (x50 SC)
  • ITO – Double-merkin burpees (x10 OYO)
  • Snail – Lunges (x48 IC)
  • Hux – Double-jump burpees (x10 OYO)
  • French Lick (x43 IC) – Peter Parkers (x22); Parker Peters (x21)
  • Coco – Merkins (x39) – Wide grip (x10); Regular (x10); Diamond (x10); Clap (x9)

COT
Rain? What rain? Although the skis threatened to open up throughout the workout, we finished the morning in the mid-60s with nothing but a light sprinkle to cool things down a bit.
Tclaps to the 7 F3 brothers who feared no rain, no burpees and nothing else…ever.
