YHC pulled into the Clubhouse for the convergence of the Rabbit and the Goat.  The air was super thick with humidity, so it looked like this was going to be a pretty damp trip along the trails.  We were getting anxious awaiting the arrival of Wuerffel and the rest of the Goat PAX.  Vandelay arrived with the news that Wuerffel had officially fartsacked. Grunge went over the gameplan that he and YHC discussed and then it was time to get things started.

Warm-Up:

  • Imperial Walkers
  • Windmill
  • Front Squats
  • Calf Stretch – 10 count on each calf

The Thang:

Warning: YHC does not know the area, so this will be a very very very rough description of our route.  We took off going north up Great Ridge Parkway and did a quick 5 burpees before turning onto Pokeberry Trail.

Went along a series of technical trails close to Bennett Mountain.  Somewhere along the way we stopped on a bridge to do 5 double merkin burpees.  I think this is where Nanu Nanu came down with a twisted ankle.  Grunge did a great job of guiding him back towards the AO, so we could continue the journey.

We then continued along a pretty sweet single track trail that included a couple good climbs and a rock garden.  Eventually the trail would dump us out by Woods Charter, home of the Thicket. Pause to allow the 6 to catch up, so YHC assigned 5 double burp burpees.

Journey back through the neighborhood to find Old Piedmont and hit up a quick loop around the powerline trail.  Before hitting the final stretch of trail, 3 one-legged burpees on each leg.  Finally got out of the trail and finished with a strong uphill to get back to the AO.

Mary:

  • Heels to Heaven
  • American Hammer
  • Flutter Kicks

COT:  Thanks to Grunge for all his help planning and Nescafe with helping me find the trail when I almost got us lost, twice. ATT ruck coming up this Saturday, 20 miles of fun. Prayers for Nanu Nanu’s ankle
