Peanut, Bear and Jenny Time

October 19, 2019

WHEN: 10/17/2019
QIC: Boucher
PAX: Awesome Baby, Bellhop, Cardiac, Floyd, Kia, Lap Lane, One Direction, Pallino, Vespa

YHC was doing some Q shopping and noticed the upcoming Tobacco Road Q spot was open and jumped on it. Wanted to see if we could do a solid workout without leaving the iconic peanut (road around the park).

Warm up
SSH IC x 20
Slow Mosey around the peanut and the mumble chatter and concern about only running peaked
Imperial Walkers IC x 20
Arm circles IC x 20 (Forwards, Backwards, Big and Small)
Another warm up lap around the Peanut (High Knees, Butt Kickers, skips and striders)
Mountain Climbers IC x 10
Willie Mays Hayes IC x 10
Cardiac Lap (Sprint along the parking spots, mosey along the part where there aren’t any parking spots).

The Thang
Paula Abduls – Two Steps Forward, One Step Back. We did this with a crawl bear two spaces, crawl bear back one the length of the first part of the parking lot.
Travelling Merkins – Lateral crawl and a merkin each time you pass a parking spot line (we did 6 to our left and 6 to our right).
Mosey around the peanut back to the stop sign
YHC wanted to create a sprint where all the PAX would finish at the same time, so the PAX were instructed to sprint around the peanut and plank in finish order, counting in their head the number of seconds between the next PAX to finish behind him. YHC tried to explain it a few times in a few different ways, but wasn’t confident everyone got it…but we tried our best. Cardiac expectedly finished first and YHC surprisingly finished less than a minute behind him. After nearly each of the PAX were asked for a slow 10 count for recovery (including Cardiac who counted to 10 in less than 2 seconds). We started the sprint in reverse finish order and relatively in the same sequence and time in which we finished the first run. The second sprint was understandably slower than the first sprint…and the PAX finished all within a few seconds of each other.

Wanting to get a little more upper body work in, the PAX were instructed to pick up a rock from the rock pile and we did a heavy metal circuit with each PAX choosing an exercise and the reps:
Curls x 20
Bent over Rows x 15
Military Press x 15
Squat Thrusters x 15
Beep Beep Beep I’m a Jeep, Clank Clank I’m Tank (Courtesy of Floyd – glad he didn’t make us do duck walks with it) x 10
Curls x 10
Goblet Squat x 15
Flutter Kicks with rock held above head x 20
WWI x 10
Overhead Triceps Extension x 20
