YHC read an inspiring book related to the power of creating and joining a Mastermind group. What would it look like to combine the format of a mastermind meeting with a solid F3 beatdown? That was the question we set out to answer this morning with gusto.
Warm-up/Good News
The Pax moseyed down the hill, over the bridge, around the turn to the parking circle. The process of a Mastermind group is to start off with some “Good News” by each member so we would do a warm-up and then have a pax member share good news/wins from the last week:
- Morrocan Dance (bonus points for getting the hips engaged Halfback and causing a walker to stare at us)
- Doggie Paddles
- Johnny Dramas
- Burpees
- Monkey Humpers
The Thang/Hot Seat
Warmed-up and feeling good about life after sharing the wins it was time to get down to business with the Thang and the Hot Seat. In the mastermind group, this typically is where one member shares their current struggles and the rest of the group supports them. This obviously meant we did the following exercise:
Floating Table Merkins!
- 4 pax holding the table off the ground
- 1 pax on top of the table completing 25 Merkins
The pax could take a break after each member completed their 25 merkins if someone was willing to share a current struggle. If not volunteers we skipped the break and went right back into floating table merkins. Many struggles were shared. This mastermind group was coming together!
Hot Rocks
Along the theme of the hot seat/mastermind section of our morning routine we all grabbed rocks and completed the following routine:
- Tricep Extensions (5)
- Curls (10)
- Overhead Shoulder Presses (10 IC)
- Squat hold 10 count around the circle
Repeato until we completed 5 sets.
Mary/Weekly Goals
Completing our Mastermind agenda/theme for the morning it was time for Mary and to share what our weekly goals were as we completed the following:
- Plank hold 1 min
- LBCs (20)
- Plank hold around the circle 10 count
COT
Thanks to the men of F3, Churham, and the Northern Province of Hillsborough to be a positive example of community. In a sense we are an unofficial Mastermind group encouraging one another along our journeys as we celebrate the wins, help with current struggles and hold one another accountable to take the next steps.
Remember to give to our Run for Malawi page at www.runsignup.com/f3hillsborough and see you in the gloom again!
Privileged to lead this morning.
