Back to School with Boucher at #TheEagle

April 13, 2021

WHEN: 04/12/2021
QIC: Boucher
PAX: 2Ply, Avalanche, Banana Slug, Barksdale, Beano, Beebe, Botched, Castaway, Cosmo, Dry Rub, Ferb, Grampa ninja, Holmes, King LL, Ocho, Panini, Sonar, Treehorn, Zika
YHC hasn’t been able to get to The Eagle very often since taking the reins as Kenan Co-Site-Q from Churham O.G. Shooter last summer.  Eagle Co-Site-Q Yurt was willing to do a Q-Swap and cover the concurrent Q at Kenan.
Four PAX committed to an EC 5 K and Zika drove up from South Chapel Hill to get some miles in…Zika wasn’t sure exactly where the startex was, so YHC, Botched and Beano tracked him down and set off a blistering pace…ending up getting nearly 6k in and came back to a BIG crowd approaching 20…
Warmup

KING LL came in hot as he was about 5 minutes late, but took a bit of time getting out of his whip…so it was Burpees for all until KING LL (who was PAX # 20) was able to join in the fun (YHC got 15 burpees in) and once 5 good burpees were completed by King LL, we were off.
We took a mosey around the parking lot and then a spring down Georg King and down Ephesus to the carpool entrance…and planked in order of finish…
The Thang
YHC wanted to lead a workout to simulate/symbolize what it is like to go to school (symptom screens, symptom surveys, infrared forehead temperature screen, physical distancing…)

The last two PAX to arrive from the sprint lead two rows of cars to slowly trudge toward drop off.  Beebe had us do a lung walk to the next parking light, mosey to the next light, King LL had us do an alternating squat walk to the next light, then Avalanche had us do travelling burpees to the next light, then mosey and finally Cosmo had us do a crabwalk.  We then did a low squat hold as YHC directed the PAX to get back in two to orderly, physically distanced, lines (that Ms., I mean Dr. Creamer would be proud of!).  To simulate extending our arms straight forward like those  operating the infrared forehead thermometers, the PAX were directed to keep their arms directly out in front the rest of the run around the loop to the front entrance/drop off point.  The PAX were directed to do 5 Carolina Dry Docks (getting your forehead close to the ground on each rep) at each traffic cone (10 total)to simulate the actual temperature screen happening.

The PAX then moseyed to the basketball courts, where the PAX broke up into two sets of 10.  10 PAX took a position for Balls to the Wall for 60 seconds, while the other 10 were positioned to do 60 seconds worth of tuck jumps.  We then switched spots and did the complementary exercises for 60 seconds.

The PAX the moseyed to the track for 10 sets of 10 different varieties of merkins:
Standard Merkin

Diamond Merkin
Sow Merkin
Off set hands Merkin (right arm high, left arm low
