Mosey down the stairs in Kenan Stadium to the field.

As many of you know, myself and a handful of others are attempting to complete the Master Q challenge. One of the more challenging aspects of this is Qing sites that you have barely or never been to. So I had set this Q up with the intention of working out on the turf portion of the stadium. This was not to be. To be fair, Shooter told me the field was off-limits, but I made the assumption this was just the grass portion. Long story short, another important skill to have as a Master Q is adaptability. So we quickly gathered up all of my supplies and I mosied, tail between the legs, to the concourse and quickly reset up the workout cones.

The Thang: Luck Be A Lady

I brought out my lucky field dice…two 6″ x 6″ blocks of wood painted as dice. Everyone was asked to split into groups of 4 or 5, ensuring that the fastest people were grouped together. Same thing for medium and slow folks. No shame in being where you belong. I just wanted everyone to push themselves as much as possible.

A designated member of the group “carefully” rolls the dice and then the group does the exercises assigned by the whiteboard according to the number rolled. After exercises were completed, take a lap down into the stadium and back up. Rinse and repeat for about 25 minutes. I think most groups did 6-9 sets total.

The whiteboard:
2- 30 Burpees
3- 30 WWII situps
4- 25 Air squats/ 25 Jump Lunges
5- Crab Walk 50 yards
6- 30 Carolina Dry Docks
7- 30 Merkins
8- 15 burpees
9- 50 yard Bear Crawl
10- Suicides
11- 50 Side shuffle hops
12- The Medley: 25 yd bear crawl, 25 yd crab walk, 25 yard crawl bear, 25 yd travelling Burpees

One quick note about adaptability. Just because you had to adapt once, doesn’t mean that you don’t have to adapt again. Change can come at you very quickly. Case in point: Our FNG gave a nice vigorous toss of my field dice. And shattered it. In the middle of the workout. So we adapted. Roll the remaining die twice (gently!!!). This incident earned thr FNG his new name “No Dice.” And in the end, its all good because now I have an excuse to get my power tools back out and make another F3 project.

Moleskin:
Welcome FNG No Dice! Seriously for all the grief you may have gotten, don’t worry about the breakage. Hope to see you soon back out in the gloom.

Quote of the day (likely a loose quote) Wheezer to his 2.0 “Suck it up and throw up somewhere else”

Thanks to Shooter for letting us into the stadium and understanding when my reading comprehension and vocabulary failed.
