The Thang

We mosey’d over to the picnic table/courtyard area at TR and YHC started a long winded explanation of our mission. I travel for work.  That often means staying in smelly hotels (adjective added by Floyd) that have little or no fitness center.  So, I’ve had to do some research on how to get a good sweat in, even in a small hotel room. Perhaps I’m the reason the hotels are smelly.

So, I took one of those workouts and brought it out into the gloom for some fresh air.

Each PAX completed the following OYO:

20 Merkins

20 Air Squats

20 Burpees

20 Box Jumps / Step-Ups

20 SSH (IC)

20 LBC (IC)

This was the portion, I normally do in my hotel room.  About 1/2 way through the first round, Floyd commented “I just don’t get how you do this in a hotel room.”  Gotta push the furniture back my man!  Make a mini dance floor, sweat puddle anywhere you go.

After completion of 6 exercises, take off for a lap around the circle drive at TR.  When you get to the playground, stop for 10 pull-ups and then travel from playground back to courtyard using one of four travel methods: Bear Crawl, Crawl Bear, Crab Walk, Walking Lunge.

Rinse and repeat.

Our goal was to complete 4 circuits/laps.  Most PAX got in about 3.5 before we ran out of time – Cardiac likely completed all 4 twice.  We all synced up and finished with 10 burpees as group regardless of where you were in your circuit.

We then circled up for some quick Mary:

Alternating Low Plank / Plank with a 10 count from each PAX

20 Box Cutters (IC)

Thrilled to have FNG Beebe join us.  He is a huge Dallas Cowboy fan and after several Cowboy legend names were suggested, we all zeroed in on the notorious Leon Lett, who was caught from behind and denied a touchdown in the Super Bowl by the gritty Don Beebe.  Welcome Beebe!  Great work getting through your first workout and we look forward to sweating with you again soon in gloom.
