I am surprised at how slow I was at ALL of this

August 20, 2018

WHEN: 08/20/2018
QIC: Cortés
PAX: Buffay, Nickleback, Nubbin, Toast McQueen, Offshore, Milton, Pusher, Florence, Hardy(2.0), Lucy (dog), Cortés (QIC)

Mercifully the rain had stopped and left us meeting in the what remained: wet ground and hot humid air. When I first started posting to F3 sites in Hillsborough Toast mentioned that he would sign up to Q on Mondays to make sure he would attend and start the week off with F3, seemed like good advice … So here I am Qing on Monday.

The Rock was the last of the Hillsborough sites that I posted at because … Mondays. There are so many options at this site and it was hard to determine which direction to go also selfishly this weekend I was still needing to recover from iron pax week 2 at the Skunk last Wednesday. So with the idea to explore but wanting to avoid just running to cover new territory a “plan” was set.

10 Pax (and a dog) showed up for some movement and exploring new parts of The Rock.

Warm Up:

Mosey to Traffic Circle exercises in cadence

Finkle Swings, Chinooks, Good Mornings, SSH (some of each)

The Thang (2 parts)

Part 1: Route 66

Pax line up on sidewalk leading away from traffic circle and park YHC informed the group that we would be traveling “Route 66”. This morning that meant 66 Burpees. Mosey as a group up the street but at each street light stop and complete Burpees. 1st street light=1 burpee, 2nd street light=2 burpees continue until street light #11.  Successfully completed Route 66, throughout all PAX crushed it and allowed from some mumble chatter.

This moved us further away from AO starting point than YHC has ventured but also brought us to a steep grassy hill conveniently located near streetlight 9 so we moseyed to out starting point for part 2

Part 2: Burpee Mountains – Combined from the the F3 Exercises Roladex of Quadraphilia and Burp Back Mountain

Partner up (this was organic and wonderful without having to count 1,2)

Each pair goal was to complete 100 burpees.

Partner 1 ran backward up the hill then forward down x 5 while partner 2 completed burpees then flapjack till goal of 100 burpees was reached for the pair.

After each partner had a chance at running backward up the hill it quickly turned into slow going (hence the title for todays BB) to complete 5x up/down the hill and somehow burpees was the preferred exercise. This basically stopped all mumble chatter for a large portion of the exercise

Hold plank until all PAX mercifully finished. Nice work by All!

YHC wanted to introduce a new movement so we did a scout run (set up like Ricky Bobby but leader runs out and back at own set distance and returns to back of PAX line and new leader runs out/back).

Once all PAX scouted we ended at the park’s parking lot for Mary

Mary

Again time to try some new things (Some of each in cadence)

Heels to Heaven

Sleeping hillbillies (lying on back bring elbow to knee on same side, this one is a keeper)

Little Baby Crunches with Freddie Mercury/Flutter kicks based on own ability to coordinate (only count the crunches) – This was WAY harder to count/coordinate than expected and might or might not ever be called on again by YHC

COT

Name-o-rama, Welcome (back?) Florence (usually posting in Mebane/Burlington) and 2.0 Hardy

Announcements: Nickleback will commit to posting more about 3rd F opportunity for helping a widow

Prayers for travels and families throughout the group.

YHC took us out

NMS

Largely stated in intro and commentary throughout. However it is important to note: In an effort to try new things the Q provides opportunities to see how things can work well and are well received and how others may never be attempted again. But in the gloom we make sure that we push each other and we make sure we leave no PAX where we found them. It was an honor gentlemen.
