Holiday light review, 2019

December 17, 2019

WHEN: 12/17/2019
QIC: RG3
PAX: Jinx, Jingles, Chum, Cricket, Beaujolais, Dueling Banjos, Ironlung, Nescafé, Splashback

YHC decided it was close enough to Christmas to lead the PAX on a tour of neighborhood holiday light displays. Zook organized a similar event at the Rabbit last year but did so at night to maximize likelihood of lights actually being on (go figure). It turns out that more people use timers than I expected, however, there’s still a strong contingent of all-night lighter holdouts out there who could care less about the environment.

YHC arrived at 5:27 and by 5:30 we had ten PAX and all had sneakers on, including Jingles. It was a Christmas miracle.

COT

As we approach the end of the year, I’m guessing that all of us are reflecting on the last year and thinking about what’s ahead personally or professionally in 2020. That’s all great and I love it, but I want to offer a word of caution as you embark on this process. Change is hard.  And that’s exactly why so many people fail to meet the ambitious goals they set every December. So I’d encourage everyone to start modestly. For example, instead of 3 big goals, maybe pick one thing you want to start doing and focus on that one thing.  Focus on smaller, more realistic things you can integrate into your life.

And finally, thank you guys for all coming out and supporting me today. There’s not a better way to start the day than in the gloom. Aye.

Moleskin

T-Claps to Chum for breaking free from the PAX to relight his ‘timed’ Christmas display just as the group was running by his house. Although this created an expectation that he’d be doing this for all of his other “save the earth” light timer peeps in the hood as we passed by.

T-Claps to Rambler for displaying a colorful and festive set of lights this year!

PAX correctly identified the four flaws my 2.0s continue to point out in YHCs light display.
