Hard Rock and Wet Grass

July 15, 2019

WHEN: 07/15/2019
QIC: Fieri
PAX: Frank Lloyd Bunyan, Zook, I.C.E., Stubbs, Griswold, Bright Idea, Duplo, Skynard, Rambler, Chum, Green Acres, Paperjam, Boyardee, RG3, Brotox

As PAX gathered we had concerns about the invasion taking place. The FIA girls were gathered in the other side of the parking lot and were blasting their electronica tunes. As YHC brought his big tune box the battle was on! YHC hadn’t Q’ed the Thicket in a while and certainly not since we started getting more daylight so I wanted to make good use of the field. First some warmup….

Warmup
Arm Circles x10 IC (Forward and Reverse)
Imperial Walkers x10 IC
Willie Mays Hayes x10

ME
Started off with the battle of the electronica. YHC started ‘Blue’ by Eiffel 65 and explained that we would do a burpee each time the word ‘blue’ was said in the song. Otherwise you do SSH or squats. Lots of grumbling (as expected)….

Mosey down to the field. YHC explained that it was time for some relay races and so the PAX divided into two teams.

  1. Bear Crawl Relay (While PAX not crawling they did merkins)
  2. Crab Walk Relay (While PAX not crab walking they did WWIIs)
  3. Tunnel of Love Relay

After the relays were over it was time for a little fun: Handball. Again, PAX were in two teams. Team on offense had to crab walk, the team on defense had to bear crawl. Goal was to score (of course). There could be a keeper but the keeper couldn’t use hands. The game ended with a 3-3 tie.

Mary
YHC again used the tune box and played ‘Flower’ by Moby. Leg lifts: ‘Green Sally Up’ mean legs lifted about 2 feet off the ground and ‘Green Sally Down’ meant legs about 6 inches off the ground. Painful but effective….

COT/BOM
YHC likes to introduce competition into Q’s because it pushes PAX to work harder. Also like a few games to make it interesting. Remember that F3 is more than fitness and fellowship; there is plenty of work to do with the 3rd F. Volunteer, donate time or money, or whatever you can do to help the community. Let’s try to make the world a better place. Aye!
