“It was a movie about American bombers in the Second World War and the men who flew them. Seen backwards by Billy, the story went like this:
American planes, full of holes and wounded men and corpses took off backwards from an airfield in England. Over France, a few German fighter planes flew at them backwards, sucked bullets and shell fragments from some of the planes and crewmen. They did the same for wrecked American bombers on the ground, and those planes flew up backwards to join the formation.
The formation flew backwards over a German city that was in flames. The bombers opened their bomb bay doors, exerted a miraculous magnetism which shrunk the fires, gathered them into cylindrical steel containers, and lifted the containers into the bellies of the planes. The containers were stored neatly in racks. The Germans below had miraculous devices of their own, which were long steel tubes. They used them to suck more fragments from the crewmen and planes. But there were still a few wounded Americans, though, and some of the bombers were in bad repair. Over France, though, German fighters came up again, made everything and everybody as good as new.
When the bombers got back to their base, the steel cylinders were taken from the racks and shipped back to the United States of America, where factories were operating night and day, dismantling the cylinders, separating the dangerous contents into minerals. Touchingly, it was mainly women who did this work. The minerals were then shipped to specialists in remote areas. It was their business to put them into the ground, to hide them cleverly, so they would never hurt anybody ever again.”

YHC saw some amazing things this morning. He met two GNF’s (Guys New Friendles) Cabaret and Quimby, who had yet to bear these names. He saw ruckers carrying packs, and PAX streaming across the border from Orange County into Deep Chatham. (Good Bye Pleasantvillers!) Well, maybe not DC, but BC. Briar Chapel Style. He saw a car driving in reverse. “That’s aggressive” said Griswold.
A flag was waved vehemently by Yanni. Or was that Lorel? It was hard to tell. Things seemed to all be going in the wrong direction.
And we’re off.

B.O.M: As another Memorial Day is upon us, YHC would like to share some thoughts about what this day means to him. This is a day to remember those who are no longer with us. A day to remember–as we cozy up under our sweet blankets of freedom which keep us warm against the chill of the blast of our air conditioners–folks who gave all they had so we can be here, safely, freely, today. Enjoy the moment. Live large. Be kind. Do the right thing. Make this country and world a better place everyday. That’s all I have to say about that.

The Pax form three lines in the road and proceed to Battan Life March towards Margaret Pollard. Indian Run, Reverse, IE running backwards. The PAX in front (or the back) drops and does 5 burpees as the line runs away in reverse. Upon completing the five burpees, the PAX sprints to the front of the line. The group proceeds to a nondescript spot halfway to the school. Here, some Quadrapeds are executed. (20?)
The group proceeds to Reverse Bernie Sanders (thanks Griswold!) to the school and is lucky enough to find a concrete set of stairs.
Crawl Bear up the stairs. (Reverse Bear Crawl up the stairs.) Although DOI barks his shins, and there is blood on one of the risers (airborne reference!) YHC thinks no one got desperately hurt doing this.
Reverse lunge walk to the center of the field.
Some exercises are executed while YHC gathers his wits. These include seated reverse arm circles. This part is hazy as YHC might have spent some amount of time on Tralfamadore at this point in the workout…
The PAX then move to one end of the soccer field for a Slaughterhouse 5. 1 Merkin at one end of the field. Run to the opposite end of the field. Execute 4 squats. Reps total 5. run back, 2,3,3,2,4,1.
Mosey to The Great Meadow via additional Bataan Life March. Idea Bright (Bright Idea) and his fine 2.0’s watch the parade from their front porch, all smiles.
