For my Generation Y brethren

September 21, 2020

WHEN: 09/21/2020
QIC: RG3
PAX: Bump Draft, Duplo, Brotox, Cricket, Boyardee, Mumbles, Spit Bucket, Stubbs, Jingles, Dive, Marky Mark, Copay, Zook, Dueling Banjos

I sit firmly in Generation X (Birth years: 1965 – 1981; 1973 for me), along with many PAX across Churham. But I’ve definitely noticed a surge in Generation Y PAX (Birth year 1981 – 1996), particularly here in BC over the past few years. I wanted to progress my punk-rock Qs from The Police (70s/80s), to something more recognizable to my Gen Y brethren. Today we worked out to a custom Blink 182 playlist that hopefully kept the PAX energized and moving. Truth be told, I prefer Blink to The Police when taken as a whole. There I said it.

As typical, about half of the PAX were there waiting patiently around 5:25. The other half came barreling in with less than a minute to spare (or late <cough> Jingles <cough>). 15 total.

COT

Thanks for coming out and supporting me today. Coming to the Thicket is always a great way to start a week. I need to do it more frequently!

So I stumbled upon the 2020 goals / plans I set for myself back in Dec/Jan this past weekend. Wow, how things have changed!  I was reminded, however, that there’s still plenty of time left in the year. And yes, much has changed in the world, but there’s still plenty we can all do to improve ourselves.  I encourage everyone to reflect on what you wanted to do and try to pick one or two things back up and finish the year strong.  You don’t need to hit the ball out of the park, but any progress is good progress. Aye.

Moleskin

  • The PAX transformed my Al Gore into Pleasuring the Giant and it made my day.
  • The mumble chatter was ‘on point’ to quote Marky Mark.
  • Mumbles asked if Blink 182 was Angels and Airwaves. Close! A&A was founded by Blink’s lead singer after they broke up. Similar sounds!
