“Brick at the Rock”

June 10, 2019

WHEN: 06/10/2019
QIC: Brick
PAX: Buffay, Nubbins, Pusher, Cortes, Milton, Tricurious

Quick Edit here: Big shout-out to Brother Cosmo of the South Durham PAX for a much better backblast title.

Today marked YHC’s first Q since making the move to the Northern Province. Monday’s site is at a park directly across from YHC’s new neighborhood, making it harder to come up with reasons to fartsack. YHC has always admired the many Q’s who come up with grand and creative workouts to put the Pax through our paces. I aspire to that level of planning and creativity, but alas, I am more comfortable keeping the Q simple and to the point. Let’s keep moving. Let’s push ourselves a little faster each post. And of course, let’s sweat. This morning proved to be no different.

Thang
Went to the well today and pulled out an old favorite, the Usain Bolt. 7 pax lined up at one end of the soccer field. First pax on the end served as the timer and backwards ran to opposite end of field before running back to start. Before leaving the end line, first man calls out an exercise of his choice for rest of Pax to complete until his return. Cortes led us off and then we proceeded down the line. We completed 3 rounds of Usain Bolts and in-between each round, we moseyed over to the picnic tables for 3 sets of: step-ups x 10/leg, dips, and derkins. Once active “rest” was complete, Pax moseyed back to the field to complete the next round of Usain Bolt. Pax did a great job of working a variety of movements into the Usain Bolts, and only a couple exercises were repeated. No shortage of variety or mud! After the 3rd and final round of active “rest” and completion of final Usain Bolt, Pax moseyed back to the start to finish the workout with a few minutes of Mary.

COT
– Continued prayers for Milton’s wife and her treatment and recovery, along with Milton and the rest of their family.
– Prayers for Cortes and his family who are traveling to Southern California this week.

Really appreciate the opportunity to lead my first workout in the Northern Province as well as the warm welcome from all the Hillsborough PAX I’ve met so far. Shoutout to Buffay who reminded me to do name-o-rama. Almost forgot!
