Final year of my ‘Prime’

Preblast: When I turned 25 my dad told me – “son, appreciate the remainder of your 20s, but know – no matter how old you get – for the rest of your life you will feel like you’re somewhere between 25 – 29.” I was thinking about that as I’m entering the final year of my 20s and realizing that this literal prime of my life is coming to a close.

This pushed me to think about the meaning of the number 29 – while it’s the last number before 30, it’s also the 10th prime number, so I decided to ring in the close of my prime with a celebration of those prime numbers.

Warmup:

  • SSH x 29
  • WMH x 10
  • Good Morning x 10
  • Imperial Walker x 10

The Thang: Prime escalator

PAX started with a slow mosie to the base of THWM.

The goal for the day was to work up through prime numbers from 2 to 29 doing the following

  • Pushups
  • BWS
  • Drydocks
  • Abs

After each set, PAX were instructed some mode of travel to get to a new spot

The 2 (abs – Peter Parker IC)

  • Bearcrawl up to the gate

The 3 (abs – Peter Parker IC)

  • Traveling burpees to the base of the stairs

The 5 (abs – V Ups)

  • Bunny Hop up the steps to the parking lot

The 7 (abs – V Ups)

  • Backwards run around the parking lot 1x

The 11 (abs – WWIIs)

  • Bearcrawl DOWN to the base of stairs

The 13 (abs – WWIIs)

  • Lunge walk down walkway to side of tennis courts

The 17 (abs – box cutters)

  • Time is running short – jog to pull up bars

The 19 (abs – box cutters)

  • Supplemented 3 at a time doing as many prime pull ups as they can then jumping back in line while the pax worked through 19 of each set. Beano did 97 or something like that
  • Run to base of THWM

The 23 (abs – Flutters)

  • Running low on time – sprint to top of THWM

The 29 (abs – no time…)

  • Pushups only as it was 6:32 – PAX were horribly sad we didn’t get remaining exercises in

BOM: 28 was good to me – F3 was a big part of that – I’ve now rung in my past 2 birthdays with a Q – a fact that still blows me away. Discipline, mornings, and exercise were never staples in my life until I found F3. That self-control and discipline has bled over hard into all other parts of my life – I hope that continues through 29.
