Enjoying some Peanuts at the Field of Dreams

October 4, 2020

WHEN: 10/01/2020
QIC: Boucher
PAX: Awesome Baby, Bellhop, Cardiac, Castaway, Cosmo, Kia, Knope, One direction, Pallino, Scapula, Swamp

Covid-19 and the Corona virus have come back to become a front of mind concern – again locally as it continues spread amongst some of our PAX as well as nationally as it rips through our White House and  our Nation’s Executive Branch.

T-Claps to Cosmo, who was originally signed up to lead this Q.  When he became aware that another non-Churham Pax had tested positive for COVID-19 shortly after they worked out together – physically distant.  Due to an abundance of caution, Cosmo asked for a substitute to cover the Q, while he waited for a negative test result – showing extreme respect for his fellow PAX.  YHC happened to be looking through slack and jumped on the opportunity to Q at the former home site AO.

The Thang
We headed over to the “OG” field turf field which was a bit aged and in need of some updating.  Knope had shared with YHC that DPR was planning on doing a significant upgrade at Herndon Park that would include field turfing the big grass field and replacing the small, OG, field turf field with (badly needed) parking.  YHC has had some great memories over the past 15 years on that field with pick up soccer, thanksgiving turkey bowls, playing with the kids, etc…but progress/growth is painful….and with that we were going to do some “peanuts” (~400′ run followed by some exercises).

Lap 1 – Run around the peanut, first PAX finishes and picks the first spot on the field sideline and begins travelling merkins to the right, next PAX selects a spot physically distant and begins travelling merkins and so on.  The last PAX to finish completes five travelling merkins to the right and calls “recover!”

Lap 2 – Run 2 laps around the peanut, first PAX finishes and picks the first spot on the field sideline and begins travelling merkins to the left (facing the opposite direction), next PAX selects a spot physically distant and begins travelling merkins and so on.  The last PAX to finish completes five travelling merkins to the right and calls “recover!”

Lap 3 – Run 3 laps around the peanut, first PAX finishes and picks the first spot on the field sideline and begins travelling burpees , next PAX selects a spot physically distant and begins travelling burpees and so on.  The last PAX to finish completes five travelling merkins to the right and calls “recover!”

YHC had originally intended to get a 4th lap in…but audibled to the rock pile.

Each Pax grabbed a rock for 2 sets of
