The light, misty rain did not deter the Briar Chapel faithful from entering the Gloom this morning.  As usual, numbers were high. Twenty-four PAX showed up to collectively conquer the Wall.  YHC had the pleasure of receiving an EC one-hour ruck tour from Rambler prior to  getting down to business at 5:45 AM.  Then the fun began.

WARM UP – SSH, Overhead Squats, Arm Circles Both Ways, Willie Mays Hayes, Slow Merkins

THE THANG

Part 1 – PAX was broken into four groups of six and groups took turns rotating through the following four stations.  The pull-up group was the timer group for rotating stations

  1. Derkins (picnic tables)
  2. Air Squats
  3. Jump Lunges
  4. Pull-Ups (x10 – Round 1 and x5 Round 2)

 

Part 2 – PAX stayed in same four groups

  1. Three groups were assigned to collectively jog to designated street light down the road, while keeping fire hose above head with one hand (~150 yards). Halfway along jog, each group would switch hand holding fire hose above head.
  2. Odd group out (not on fire hose duty) would backwards run with rest of PAX to street light destination
  3. Upon arrival at street light, three groups would lay hose on ground and complete 10 side-to-side jumps over hose
  4. Odd group out would complete 10 merkins
  5. This series was completed up and down the street four times so that each group had a turn off the hose backwards running and doing merkins

The BB title was derived from YHC’s efforts to push PAX to keep their hand always fully extended above head while jogging with the hose up and down the street.  Quote from middle of workout, “Keep your arms up above your head, guys.  Don’t bullshit me!”

Part 3 – Half-mile Group Run

  1. PAX collectively jogged around perimeter of Great Wall Activity Park, stopping at two strategic locations to complete the following:
    • Carolina Dry Docks (x15)
    • Reverse Lunges (x15)
  2. Ground ended with sprint back to parking lot
