Counterclockwise Triangles

June 10, 2020

WHEN: 06/10/2020
QIC: Paper Jam
PAX: Zook, Marky Mark, Duplo, Huffy, Chum, Jingles, Catskill, Bumpdraft, Boyardee, Bright Idea, Spitbucket, Stubbs, Brotox, Dr.Phil

In a moment of weakness during last week’s Big House workout YHC was asked if he wanted to Q this week and through labored breaths I guess I mumbled something sounding like yeah so here we go. I tried to use the structure of the parking lot to my advantage in planning and decided what I thought I would call Triangle in 2 workout (The Last Dance still in my head) but alas mumble chatter decided the fate of the workout to be counterclockwise triangles…

Warm Up

Pretty basic opening sequence to get us started

  • SSH x20 IC
  • IW x10 IC
  • Good Mornings x10 IC
  • WMH x10 IC
  • Arm Circles (F/R) x10 IC

Main Event

Building off of Cricket’s previous chalk idea and the reminder by Marky Mark, I brought cones to setup 3 stations in a triangle around the parking lot and used chalk to mark the exercise at each station and the method of travel to the next station. At each station you would continue reps until the prior station got to you then you would travel. The PAX counted off by 3s and headed off to their station where we completed 2 full rounds of the triangle:

Station 1:

  • Merkins (SC) / Squats (IC) x20 (Station 1 started the rounds to trigger everyone else)
  • Travel to Station 2: Traveling burpees

Station 2:

  • LBCs / OH Claps x30 IC
  • Travel to Station 3: Bear Crawl

Station 3:

  • Dry Docks (SC) / Flutter Kicks (IC) x20
  • Travel to Station 1: Bernie Sanders

After 2 rounds, PAX went for a lap around the traffic circle and met back up for Mary.

Mary

  • 4 count ring of fire plank
  • American Hammers IC (x20)
  • Box Cutters (x15).. per Chum
  • Electric Bugaloo (x10) ..per Boyardee

COT/BOM

YHC is glad to be back out in the gloom with everyone but the quarantine allowed me the opportunity to really build accountability in myself. Having to get myself out there every day with only me knowing really forced me to focus on what I am trying to achieve which is to be a healthier person. By building this accountability for myself I can now go forward and help to bring this accountability to the group and others by showing up and letting them know this is worth getting up for and worth the time.
