MAIN EVENT

Run the parking lot over to the cinder block pile. When I think of Paradise, I think of a lovely pile of cinder blocks.

Each PAX grab a block. Line up at the edge of the grass field. Introduced the workout for this morning. We will be doing the Zachary Tellier* WOD, which I modified into a cinder block WOD. We will perform each set of exercises as a group, not for time.

*Zachary Tellier (Deceased: 9/29/07), was a combat infantryman/paratrooper stationed at Fort Bragg. He was deployed to Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne. While out on armed patrol, a vehicle in his unit ran over and detonated a bomb. Sgt Tellier ran over and pulled two soliders from the burning vehicle to safety. Despite severe burns, he jumped up into the turret of the vehicle and returned fire upon the Taliban. His brave act of valor earned him the Bronze Star, but he ultimately passed away from the wounds he suffered.

I modified this workout into a Travel + Stack workout (the original version includes a 400 meter run buy in and cash out vs. traveling after each super set. Also, due to the addition of the cinder block, I modified one set of exercises, substituting block swings for lunges, as well as slightly tweaking rep counts). Pointed to a tree approx 40 – 45 yards out as the end/turnaround point. Our mode of travel will be to walk while holding the cinder block in an overhead hold.

Overhead Hold Carry across field and return cinder blocks to pile. Really tough workout with an even tougher couple of guys. Great work, brothers.
