AH Meltdown

April 29, 2019

WHEN: 04/26/2019
QIC: Teo/Sidecar combo
PAX: Subprime, Draper, Champ, Grunge, Harbaugh, Peppermint Pattie

To commemorate the 33rd anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, the Co-Q’s arranged a nuclear smoke session for the PAX.

After the warmup (SSH, Imperial Walker, Slow Merkin, yada, yada) the PAX paired up and evacuated the basketball courts via buddy carries down to the track.

Teo immediately put the PAX to work with alternating Pullups and locomotion around the football field goal posts.  One buddy would do Pullups while the other Bear Crawled.  Upon return of the Bear Crawler, positions would switch.  Next set locomotion changed to Crab Walk.  Rinso-repeato for 6-7 sets.

At this time, Teo realized that additional burning was needed in order to achieve the desired effect with the PAX and the group moved to the parallel bars for some horizontal Pullups alternating with low bar Dips.  Rinso-repeato to desired effect.

Last was a max number of Pullups, followed by 5 more with buddy assistance.

Teo handed over the reins to Sidecar, who assured the group they were finished with the bars.  There was great rejoicing.  Less so when Sidecar announced that the next evolution would be to do a 20 8-count Body Builder/10 4-count Mountain Climber ladder around the track, stopping to exercise at each corner.

The group pushed hard into the first 20 set of Body Builders but received an unexpected gift when the Q modified as needed to a set of 10 as he felt his own Merlot rising fast.  No complaints were heard from the PAX.  After the 10 Body Builders, the group crushed the 10 Mountain Climbers and proceeded around the track for 8/12, 6/14, 4/16, 2/20.  Or something like that.  The Q was having difficulty counting and maintaining respiration at the same time.

Next up was an homage to the Russian bear via a Crawl Bear back up the hill from the track to the bleachers.  This was met with much grumbling and muscle failure, largely on the part of the Q.

On the bleachers, the PAX risked tooth and eye to perform a Derkin/Erkin combo X 10 reps.  The PAX then extricated themselves and moved to the wall for a celebration of the USSR via the People’s Chair.

Last up was a mosey back up the hill for a round of Balls to the Wall followed by Chicken Peckers.  One PAX (Grunge) questioned the Q’s understanding of the Chicken Pecker exercise.  This minor rebellion was quashed before it could infect the rest of the group.

Finally, a Bear Crawl back to the start for some Mary: Flutter Kicks, Box Cutters, LBCs, Dying Cockroach, and Cockroach Resurrection.

Endex with COT, Name-arama, and announcement reminder of Draper taking over the site Q for The Goat, and reminder to sign up for F3 Dad Camp at Camp Sea Gull this summer.

In all, the PAX were appropriately smoked, there was much mumble chatter, and a good time was had by all.
