‘‘Twas an early February morning when all the PAX believed that Santa had retired to his workshop in the North Pole. Little did they know he left me with one last present for those lucky enough to attend.
It started innocently, with a typical warm-o-Rama consisting of 20 SSH, 10 Hill Billys, 10 Willy Mayes Hayes, and arm circles. YHC, making his VQ, dropped a hint of what was to follow by announcing burpees as the next warm up exercise. The veteran PAX all muttered confused grunts and scoffs of disbelief. Fortunately, there was only one burpee to be done as we finished warming up.
A short mosey to the bike racks where we split into two groups, alternating exercises. Group A did the people’s chair while group be did LBCs with a clap. Each exercise for 30 seconds before switching up, done for three sets. Next was an inverted row on the bike rack paired with Bobby Hurleys, again for 30 second each, for three sets.
From here we moseyed back to the parking lot where Santa made his presence and presents known. It was a shuttle run from one end of the parking lot to the other, coupled with a descending ladder workout at each end, starting with 10 burpees then 9, then 8…until 6, then switching to 5 merkins, then 4, down to 1. When all PAX completed this ladder, YHC gave the group their final Christmas gift from Santa and we did a second round, balancing things out with 10-6 merkins and finishing with 5-1 burpees.
A short mosey over to the benches for some step ups and single leg deadlifts before our MOM.
MOM consisted of frozen Freddy mercurys, heels to heaven, and finally Parker peters. A short stretch to loosen everything back up closed out YHC’s VQ.
Coffeeteria was attended by 5, while there was 1 for EC running.
