I made jump ropes in preparation for the workout. The process of making these ropes consisted of me trialing several different widths of rope in the asile of Lowes Hardware. After some thoughtful conversation with the Lowes attendant, I landed on a braided 3/8in nylon, cut at 10ft lengths. The fact that they will cut them for you at the store was pretty convenient, however the equipment to melt the ends wasn't working so I improvised and used the stovetop at my house. The smell of melting nylon filled the home and somehow my roommate didn't even notice and his since of smell is keen. Rarely do I get away with leaving my post workout clothes on the main floor. 15 were attendance today which was near perfect because I had only made 8 ropes and had planned to partner up. The rope work consisted of;
Alternating with a partner, we did 50ct jumps while the other worked towards the following totals, passing off the rope once the 50ct was completed.
Dry docks – 300ct
Squats – 250ct
Leg Raises – 200ct
Reverse Pushups – 150ct
Merkins -100ct
Burpees -50ct
Balls to the wall
We didn't finish the workout, but we did finish with 10 burpees.
We had an FNG – Jeff who is now known as Mayflower. The crowd was a little disgruntled on the name we settled on, but it was cold, and no better suggestions were made.
