Maxin’ Out With Max Power

YHC was overjoyed to learn that an FNG at Tobacco Road last week got named Max Power. He’s been crushing it ever since, but today was the first time we’d posted together. Sang him a few bars of the Max Power theme song upon arrival. It was a great moment for everyone.

Advised Max and the rest of the PAX the day before on Slack that there would be no six during today’s workout, and that was in fact the case. Today was all about you vs. you, with a little F3 accountability thrown in to keep everyone honest and pushing hard.

We were on a schedule, so warm-up was brief, then PAX were advised to grab a big rock and head to field, being sure to gently place said rock on the turf so as to not run afoul of Knope, despite his fart-sackin’ ways.

Everyone partnered up. Partners reported their rep counts to each other after each set – a Peppermint Pattie innovation that really gets PAX to give their all. Also a la Pep, kept things very simple with six basic exercises.

As YHC did at The Eagle last week, shared with the PAX that the Catholic Church encourages people during the month of May to reflect on and express gratitude for the Virgin Mary and also the important women in our lives. So offered a prayer of thanksgiving for the mothers, grandmothers, wives, daughters, sisters, and aunts in our lives, and asked for wisdom and guidance to be the kind of men they need us to be. Ended with a Hail Mary (the prayer, not desperation football throw.)
