Good to be in Paradise on a beautiful Thursday Morning. This is Q # 4 of 25 in the Master Q Challenger for YHC. It brought to mind this saying:
“Men are often capable of greater things than they perform. They are sent into the world with bills of credit, and seldom draw to their full extent.” — Horace Walpole.
Translation to me: Stop fart sacking and get out and Q, and go to AO’s you haven’t been before when you are not Q. Get out of your comfort zone, and nothing says out of the Comfort Zone like Monkey Humpers in the Dark.
One bit of history: On this day 1814, Francis Scott Key wrote the poem “Defence of Fort McHenry.” Sometime later, it would be set to an old British drinking song and … voilà — a national anthem!
Warm Up:
SSH, IW, WMH, Merkins
ME: Several Years ago YHC was involved with the Carrboro HS Football Program. The School was brand new, and about 2/3 of the size it is now. The Football field wasn’t even ready for our first Home Game. Over the years changes occurred on the campus, most of which YHC was not quite aware. Thanks to everyone for allowing the opportunity this morning to do a tour of the campus grounds as we performed various workouts at various locations of the campus.
Run to the Field House at the Entrance to the Football stadium. 20 Dips and 20 Derkins x2. Run to the side entrance and bear crawl through the tunnel stopping at each pillar to perform 5 Merkins. Spooky as usual led the way on bear crawls. At the main entrance to the school, we alternated Balls to the Wall and Peoples Chair x2 for approx.. 30 sec. each time.
Mosey around the school entrance to the round about on the far side of the school where we enjoyed a little crab walk around the circle, followed by some Body Weight Squats, and topped it all off with some Monkey Humpers 10 IC. (You can’t do Monkey Humpers without a smile on your face!)
Mosey up the hill on the back side of the school to the entrance of the newest part of the school. Ideal location for some more dips (20 IC) and Derkins (15 IC) x 2.
At this point, we realized that time was short and there was so much more to do. We ran back towards the starting point, but at a brilliant suggestion from one of the PAX we charged up the hill toward the fence near the football stadium stairs and down again. Our run continued to Cinder Block Pile where the PAX chose a Cinder Block to cuddle up to as we lost ourselves in the throes of Cinder Block Curls and Presses, 20 each x 2.
“All good things must come to an end” was the thought in the mind of every PAX as we ran back to the starting point for MARY.
MARY: 20 LBC’s, 40 Flutter Kicks, and 10 MONKEY HUMPERS all in Cadence.
Announcements: Super Cooper 5K on Saturday 09/16 at 2 PM. Come out and support this worthy cause (Support for Families at UNC Children’s Cancer Hospital). This foundation was started and run by our French Lick. (Oooh’ Yahhh French Lick).
Prayers for Fair Winds and Following Seas to the PAX (Sweats, Doogie, and Manscaper)who are off on various CSAUP events.
