YHC was excited to have the last Q of the year at the Piranha. My 2020 did not start too well, having ruptured my Achilles tendon and undergoing surgical repair on 12/23/2019. I spent the first three months of the year in a boot and on crutches, unable to post at any AO.

My original plan for today was to compile a series of “greatest hits“ from the three months of workouts that I missed at the Piranha. As I was reading all the back blasts, it struck me how much things have changed this year. I could not incorporate any playground equipment. I could not utilize the swings. We could not share coupons. Buddy carries were out. And the best worst exercise ever, Churhams’ own  coyote ugly was off-limits.as in all aspects of life, we have the opportunity to focus on the negatives or the positives. This has been magnified greatly this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite restrictions, unknowns, and unpredictability, there were a lot of positives with an F3 that occurred this year. The Matrix channel provided excellent individual home beat down plans that was just what I needed as I was easing back into things after recovering from surgery. A Zoom poker network was set up allowing for some additional much needed second F. Qs got quite creative in designing socially distanced, safer workouts. The Ruckers have found that small scale homegrown events rival costly GORUCK productions when it comes to fellowship and finding a way to dig deep when things get hard.

So today’s workout, instead of looking back, was a celebration of the present. I tried to incorporate every workout feature of this great site. To celebrate 2020, we completed 20 reps of 20 different exercises. To reflect on where we have been, and where we can be, we incorporated two timed fitness tests.

-Pallino recovered nicely from his Christmas Eve HC fart sack, letting us know he donated not 1, but 2(!) units of blood the day before.  Literally giving back to the community.
