Peach, Shovel, Bushwood, Riggs, Beano, and Elf (and maybe others?) held on for as long as they could for what was rumored to be a hellish EC grip strength session, replete with farmer”s carries, burpees, bucket carries, and probably more bad stuff that YHC is not qualified to comment on because he fartsacked the EC. Oh well, more juice for the ME!
YHC reminds himself of a Bruce Lee quote that often inspired during those bygone wrestling days, “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” I think it still rings true today with many things. In particular, I think it applies figuratively to one”s mindset when pushed to a limit. If you have not ever gotten to that point and pushed beyond it, but only brushed by it briefly while attempting to try many things until you find what you are “good at” or “destined” to do, you are not prepared to progress or succeed. On the other hand, if you have kept pushing and know what that Rubicon looks like when you get there, you are more prepared for bigger moments, less prone to choke, and less likely to get stuck in your head. Whenever things get tough, you know that you can get beyond it because you have done it before. It is mental toughness, grit, and the willingness to kick 10,000 times that create possibilities for special things to happen.

Sprint from the bottom of the hill to the bend in the road headed towards Garrett, then backwards run up the hill. Return at 75% effort. Repeato X3.
Upper-body blast intermission:

  • 20 slow-count Derkins, 20 slow-count dips, and 10 burpees
  • 15 slow-count Derkins, 15 slow-count dips, and 10 burpees
  • 10 slow-count Derkins, 10 slow-count dips, and 10 burpees

Bunny Hop Merkin March
Bunny hop two parking spaces, drop and do 5 merkins. YHC didn”t count but I think we did over 10,000 merkins (conservative estimate).
Cherry on Top: Bear Crawl, Crawl Bear Finale
Bear crawl to the bend in the road, then Crawl Bear up to the speed limit sign. Absolutely devastating!
Jog back to the main parking lot to finish.
