Last week I posed a request to the PAX that we have at least one FNG for today's workout. Sure enough, that request was fulfilled by none other than our most recent PAX, @wilbur, great stuff!
We started with me attempting to summarize a 5 minute audio clip I had posted in Slack (an audio clip with Sam Harris and James Clear – author of Atomic Habits). From there, @quint provided the PAX with F3's mission statement, followed by several PAX stepping up to list out the 5 core principles.
Next was our warm up session which included SSH, willie mayes hays, Michael Phelps, Mtn Climbers, IWs, and seal claps.
Then began a mosey around Thales and back to the AO with periodic stops where the PAX would lead workouts. Last night, I wrote out one slow workout and one fast workout onto 15 small square sheets of paper. We had 12 PAX today so 3 were not used. That said, a PAX would lead the workout listed on their sheet and then select the next PAX to lead what was on their sheet. The main goal was to empower the PAX to LEAD workouts, which they each executed incredibly well and as always, we had some good laughs in the meantime.
One main takeaway for me from today's workout was to avoid exercises that require laying down in the grassy field next to the AO because unfortunately @provolone laid in an ant hill and yes, they did bite him – my apologies @provolone! I'll avoid laying us down in that field next time.
Once we made it back to the AO, the PAX (cough, cough….@sonic craut) was quick to remind me that I promised 5 burpees for each new FNG but they were also just as quick to JOIN ME in executing the 5 burpees which were led by @montecristo. At that point, we were at time, so we swiftly moved into announcements, name-o-rama and then COT.
After many great names were proposed, we ultimately landed on naming our FNG (Reggie) Whistlepig, welcome sir!
