Greetings PAX,

In a rotating fashion, Maraschino has asked each of the SLT to take notes from our monthly meetings and provide the update to the region. Here below is YHC’s (Quint) reflection from our initial 2024 SLT meeting.

On January 10, 2024, the Shared Leadership Team (SLT) held its first meeting with 100% attendance of the SLT members. If you've ever studied team-formation theory, last night’s meeting was a classic "Forming" event (reference Tuckman's Stages of Team Development). The forming phase is characterized by members getting acquainted, establishing connections and defining the team's purpose and objective. This was a meeting of orientation, individuals discussing their roles, expectations and feeling out the overall team structure.

In this context, please allow YHC to introduce the 2024 SLT team to you.
Nan'tan: maraschino – Matt Wolfe (The Thicket, Kenan, Jag, Ramses, Big House, Paradise, Animal House, Ruck PT, Battering Ram, etc.)

We invite you to explore the baseline F3 SLT role descriptions as provided by F3 Nation: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QQ40EsCe-MXC7egpcvoj8AGoma1yzh6M/view

In preparation for the meeting, Maraschino asked each member to review and reflect on his role. After initial introductions and taking a moment to share how each PAX came into F3, each PAX was asked to introduce his role based on the SLT charter and discuss potential refinement. There is much humility and respect for the F3 Mission within this SLT and is abundantly evident based on the HIM around the table. This team then jumped into cross-functional ideating, acknowledging our positions are not autonomous but instead highly integrated across all SLT functions.

Fellow PAX, consider this a kick-off meeting with the objective of forming up our SLT relationships and learning about each other’s vision of their role. Some 2024 areas of focus were discussed at high-level, but we welcome the input and involvement of all PAX. We look forward to updating you and dialoguing with you as we continue defining our mission and strategy for how we serve you and the region throughout 2024.

At last week’s Quarterly Report, Roots, closed with an Adam Grant quote acknowledging wisdom doesn’t come from experience it comes from reflecting on experience. It’s important that we reflect on the mission and why each of us came to our first workout and more importantly why we come back. These are the experiences we all need to give to the broken and underserved men in our workplaces and neighborhoods. This month, join us in giving it away by sharing your F3 experience with another man.

Finally, the 2024 SLT embraces the mission to plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership. We look forward to better understanding your needs and working with you to continue growing this great F3 Region we call CHURHAM. AYE!

Respectfully submitted,

Quint (Expansion Q)
