Those who posted at #Paradise got the privilege of enrolling in Coach Mumbles PE class. Due to the Dodge Ball being banned in Carrboro, Coach ditched his first Q idea and went with what he knew best…old fashioned conditioning!

Conditioning Round 1 Suicides
Pax split into 2 groups. Group 1 ran suicides stopping half way to perform a modified one arm push up 10x (5 each arm) before finishing the suicide. Group 2 performed flutter kicks until everyone in group 1 was done. Yeah, you enjoy that. Flip activities. Next was another round of suicides except Archer pushups 10x were completed at the halfway point while the other group performed The White Bread until the group was finished. If you are unaware of the White Bread exercise please see Shake It for clarification and explanation of its existence. Flip activities for equal distribution of pain.
Conditioning Round 2 Static Tension
The Pax moseyed behind the school to the brick wall. Group one performed Balls to Wall while group 2 held The Peoples Chair for 30 seconds. Flip and repeat. Next 20 seconds of Balls to Wall for group 1 while group 2 did 10 seconds of single leg People’s Chair on each leg. Flip and repeat.
Conditioning Round 3 Marietta
No idea why my high school football coach called it this but it sucked then and it sucked today. The Pax moseyed to the grass next to the parking lot where 10 cones, each 5 yards apart, where placed in a straight line. As one group the Pax performed 5 Burpees at each cone.
Conditioning Round 4 The Weight Room
After a 10 count the Pax moseyed to the cinderblock pile to retrieve there coupon. In a circle the Pax completed the following lifts: 10 Burpees with coupon, 15 Thrusters, 20 Overhead Presses, 25 Curls.
Conditioning Round 5 Mary
The Pax moseyed one last time to the starting location for Mary. At this point YHC and everyone but Adolphus were pretty smoked. I asked for someone to lead American Hammer, don’t do that if Adolphus posts when you Q. He led the Pax in 15 slow American hammers. Small in number but large in pain. We flipped over and performed 20 Supermans led by Grunge. Thank you Grunge for not making them slow.
COT
Pax expressed a few people who are struggling with pain, loss, and sickness. Lets not take our health and our families for granted and be an encouragement when we can to those we know find themselves in these hard places. Also noted was the expansion of families within the larger Pax. Congrats to those who’s wives are pregnant! I chose the theme of coaches and their favorite conditioning exercises to reinforce the impact my high school coaches had on my life. These men were father figures for me in a time of life where my family life was not always stable and healthy. We are a large group of men who do have this influence on neighborhood kids, players on teams we coach, and others in our community. Don’t take your influence lighty. You might be influencing the next mumbles.
