Whispering Wind Hill repeats

Nescafe introduced me to this 1/3 mile stretch from BCP to Encore a month or two ago. I recall it being deceptively difficult, not so much because of the initial climb, but the subtle elevation increase near the end of the stretch. The plan was to run this on repeat until the PAX complained sufficiently, then to reward them with a fellowship jog back to the AO.

Warm-up

  • Good Mornings ICx10
  • Hillbillies IC x10
  • Runners Stretch (deep lunge and hold)
  • Calf Stretch

Thang

  • Fellowship jog from AO to bottom of Whispering Wind via BCP.
  • “Sprint” (eg, AYG) for 1/3 mile to entrance to Encore. Fellowship jog back the 1/3 segment.
  • Rinse and Repeat x 3
  • Fellowship Jog back to AO

Our Brother Grunge completed a 100 mile trail run last weekend. What an incredible accomplishment. There’s a lesson to be learned from this. Not that Grunge is a beast (we already knew that). What we should all realize is that you can do anything if you put your mind to it and are willing to put in the work. Grunge’s race was the capstone to a lengthy and grueling training schedule. He wanted it and he got it. Kudos to Grunge. You’re an inspiration and remind us that we’re all capable of doing big things if we want them.
