Wet Skunk

August 18, 2021

WHEN: 08/18/2021
QIC: Cosmo
PAX: Elf, Denali, Nubbin

Elf recently invited a number of Durham PAX to take a trip to the Northern Province to Q The Skunk, and YHC was first to take him up on it. Threatening weather may have kept the crowd light today, but that left plenty of room on the track for some soggy shenanigans.

So much running. Quel dommage.

Standard warm-up stuff then moseyed to track for one fellowship lap, followed by Good Morning and Willy Mays Hayes to stretch our now-warm legs.

THANG

Partnered up for a Catch Me If You Can mile
Lap 1
Partner 1 does 5 burpees while Partner 2 runs backwards – Partner 1 sprints to catch Partner 2 and switch. Keep swapping until one lap complete.
Lap 2
6 WWII
Lap 3
8 jump squat
Lap 4
10 merkins
Switched up for one CMIYC lap with a variety of modes of travel.
Partner 1 did 20 squats while Partner 2 bear crawled. Sprint and switch. Once Partner 2 caught Partner 1 again switch to crab walk. Once both partners had done a round of crab walk, switch to broad jump, then to bunny hop, then back to bear crawl, then crab walk again until the lap was completed. This was pretty tough.
Fellowship recovery lap, though Denali and Nubbin’s definition of fellowship recovery lap differed from YHC’s and Elf’s.
MARY
Flutter kick X 51IC
WWII X 51
10-merkin ROF
Closed it out with Elf and YHC leading a bit of yoga. We had earned a few minutes of cool down.
COT
Prayers for Nubbin’s family who have taken in two foster children for the next week or so, and prayers for those kids.
Prayers for YHC’s brother who just started law school at the University of Montana.
Check out more guest Qs in coming weeks at The Skunk.
YHC took us out.
MOLESKIN
Small but strong crew today, lots of fun. This site is a hike for many of us, but worth the trip. T-claps to Elf for the invite and for all three PAX for braving the elements. Aye!
