Triple D – Dominate the Devil’s Deck

For me, the answer is “No.”  BUT…I have “dominated the devil’s deck” with 15 other PAX!  To be blunt, the scene early on was not a pretty one.  Juco successfully tempted myself and four others to join him for a pyramid of pullups, merkins and KB swings before the Main Event.  Wait a second…did the ME actually take place before EC this morning?  A few commented that it kind of felt that way.  Whatever your thoughts, the excitement of many upcoming Spartan and GoRuck events has this group pushing itself like never before.

WARM UP – SSH, slow merkins, imperial walkers, air squats, willie mays hayes, arm circles (both directions)

THE THANG

ROUND 1 – – –

Sixteen PAX were split into four groups of four.  Each group received two pieces of metal from el coche de Beano. Then the group collectively began a jog to the ramps on the far side of the parking deck.  Members of all four teams were split up to complete the following exercises:

Teammate #1 – Carry metal while running up two levels of the parking deck.  When you reach the top Level 2, complete 10 Press Jacks with metal (jumping jack and shoulder press combined).  Run metal back to starting point.

Teammate #2 – Do same thing as Teammate #1

Teammates #3 and #4 – Partner carry two levels of the parking deck.  When you reach the top of Level 2, each person completes 20 plank jacks.  Then both run back down to starting point.

NOTE: Each team rotated through the exercises four times until each person on the team had completed 1) two metal runs up the deck, 2) one partner carry and 3) one time being carried

 

ROUND 2 – – –

Members of all four teams were split up to complete the following exercises:

Teammate #1 – Carry metal while running up one level of the parking deck.  Use metal to complete 10 bicep curls and 10 tricep extensions.  Then drop metal at Level 1, run up to the top of Level 2, complete 10 merkins and finally run back down to pick up your metal before returning to the starting point.

Teammate #2 – Do the same thing as Teammate #1

Teammates #3 and #4 – Partner carry up one level of the parking deck and both complete 20 Carolina Dry docks (CDDs). Then run to the top of Level 2, both complete 10 merkins, and finally run back down to the starting point.

NOTE: Each team rotated through the exercises four times until each person on the team had completed all four parts of the cycle.

The PAX ran back to the parking lot (with metal) for CoT.
